A2Z internet service provider still live?

 Yep, the clover and condado club do internet at €2 per day,  if the community signs the deal with A2Z then as part of the agreement there was to be open Wifi access in these areas, along with other consessions.  See http://cdagr.files.wordpress.com/2010/01/telecoms-proposal-june-2012.pdf for the full details.

Of course all this was agreed by the majority of the old presidents and as such is out of date and was only valid until the end of Dec. As to what the new presidents will decide is anyones guess, but A2Z have only agreed to keep the service going until the end of February ( at a slight increase in costs to the community ) so hopefully they will make a decision at the next presidents meeting scheduled for mid Feb.

I am assuming the comments on the potential loss of UK/international TV are a misunderstanding. However, if they are real, we should not allow the erection of TV aerials for Spanish TV to replace the service as part of the community charge either as this will still incur both a set up and ongoing maintenance cost. If the presidents choose to stop funding international TV distribution on site then this should also apply to local TV too.

I think the tenders weren't in until this week and then decisions have to be made. We're hoping we can keep A2Z as the monthly rate suited the infrequency of our visits- but I won't be surprised if the monthly charges do rise. We've just got to hope that it wont be by too much. We looked at other suppliers and A2Z's deal was by far the best, but it was a 'deal' and so probably would have always risen. Just have fingers crossed. We tried a dongle and found it quite expensive.

 Telecom's didn't go to public tender, only security and gardening.  The package offered by A2Z is a standard one that it provides to all the other Polaris resorts €8/Month per property for TV and 2mb internet.  The only difference on Condado is the way in which it's being paid i.e the internet part would only by paid for by those owners that want it.  All this is detailed in the link posted earlier.  lets all hope that sense will prevail and that the deal is signed other wise we could end up like Terrazas where the minority presidents voted against it.

Just to say that I have only this week signed up with A2Z for the service and between them and Milenium, everyone was very helpful, informative and efficient.

I paid €100 +  VAT (€121.00) for a wifi modem to them direct online and they are installing on an agreed morning that suits me next week when I'm back again. Monthly charges are still at €4.75 + VAT until further notice, which will possibly be changing next month but again it is a very competitive price versus what else is available.  The package includes 2 MB internet + over 300 TV channels (many English) and a telephone line for internal phone calls only.

For the record A2Z now have 2 days per week where they will visit Condado being Tuesdays and Thursdays.

yes we know all this, but the contract with A2Z expired on jan 1st and so far no new contract has been agreed.  A2Z have agreed to continue to provide the service until the end of March, although now at the new price of €8/property rather than the €6 that was paid upto dec 31st.  The price of €4.75 is not fixed and is lightly to change, it all depends on 1) if the new contract with A2Z is agreed and 2) How ML decide to divvy up the costs.  All users should of been informed of these changes and told what the new cost from Jan 1st would be, but so far dispite a numner of email we have had no response.  There is a L2 presidents meeting next week to make a decision on the telecomm's contract.

Thaks Phil for the update. I didn't know the arrangement was now extended to end of March we thought end of Feb and we didnt know it had risen to 8 euro's either. I have also made emil enquiries to ML and have had no response.

 Hi Jann,  the price to the end user hasn't been set yet, it's the price that the community pays A2Z that has gone upto €8 from €6 which i is the price I agreed with them until dec 31st.  

Hi AJW,  yep we could all have TV & Internet for €8 a month,  this is waht the majority of other resorts have including La Isla.  Don't know if you were at the 2011 AGM but if you were you will remember this being voted out.  Those in control here only wanted a reduction in fees so rather getting internet at only €2/month more they stopped the maintenance contract to save money.  The owners were told that it had to be unanimous ( which it didn't ) and that the banks voted against it ( who were in debt ) so the deal could not be agreed.
