Hello everyone,

My husband and I just bought an appartment last week in phase 2 block 269. We went over te see it and are all excited about it. I hope we made a good choice. I just found this forum and find it very interesting.

I have a few questions.
We thought that the airco was just a matter of installing a small something (don't know the word in English), but I found out it will need a whole installation which costs neartly 2000 euros. Do most people have this installed. Is it absolutely necessary in the summer?

What about the tv? Do we need to buy anything in order to get european channels?

We have ordered all our furniture at DFS and are planning to come out for the May holidays. We can't wait to see  it all finished. How is the weather at that time. Will it be warm enough to go swimming. We have a daughter of 10 who just loves swimming.

Do we need to get in touch with anyone (I read about a 'block president'?).

I see that there are a lot of English in the resort. Are there also other nationalities? (we are Dutch).

Look forward to getting some responses. Any tips or suggestion are very welcome.

Marian and Ahmed

Welcome, we are new too and are half way through furnishing. We have gone for Aircon as I'm told it can be unbearable to sleep in the summer months and my wife is prone to being bitten, so it tends to help with that.

We're on La Isla block 165.

TV looks expensive at ~€20/month for English channels, not sure about other languages, I think Spanish is free from what I've seen on the forums depending on how often you visit I guess, and we want to enjoy the outside not sit inside watching TV :-)

I think our neighbours below are either Dutch or Belgium, not sure which but they answered one of my posts and said so.

I put my feet in the pools when over at February and they almost froze, air temp was nice though and blue skys. We're back later this month for 10 days, can't wait

Hi,

In our experience you will need aircon & heating, we have been in our apartment seen June 2010 & spend every 8 weeks at Terrazas so we have spent most months of the year in Spain. We installed 3 unites for our apartment for the lounge & bedrooms. You will find that it can get very cold in the evenings during the winter months & very hot in the summer, you can of course leave your windows open in the summer but you will have to put up with flys. we have also installed mosquito blinds on all our windows so we can leave our windows open during the summer months.

a2z  telecomunicaciones are the company we have used for TV, internet, & internal phone the cost for all 3 is 20 euros a month.      a2z 0ffices are at La Torre Golf Resort, Town Centre. info@a2ztelecomunicaciones.es

The weather in May should be ideal for your daughter to use the pools.

Your block president is D Belarmino Fern'andez Fern'ande.  If you go to website  resortalia S.L.P.-official web page community of owner Terrazas De La Torre golf resort you will find out information on the resort & a list of all the presidents in every block, plus your phase 2 president who is Henry Reed  who you can contact through emailing our community organizers tlt@resortalia.com or TEL 0034 968031365. If you have given your email address to Resortalia you should be receiving weekly reports & pictures of the work being carried out on the resort.

You will find in time that there are all nationalities on the resort.

I hope some of this information will help you if there is anything else i can help with you can send me a private message.

   Regards

                        Clieve

Hi,

We have also just purchased on block 269, so we will be neighbours. We are also using DFS for furniture and are also unsure on the air-conditioning, but I think we will probably get one fitted as we will be spending time there in the winter months and will need heat as well as the cooling effect in the summer.

We are a family from England (we have 2 boys) but now live in Denmark where the winters are more harsh and longer than in the UK so we are looking forward to being able to get away every now and then and escape the snow!!

When we were over to look at the apartment in February we met people from England and Holland. I would imagine there is a good mix of Europeans in the resort!

Look forward to meeting you, all the best

Claire & Richard
