But seriously, the hire car company guy who I dealt with yesterday at San Javier told me that the airlines that currently use Murcia have all just signed 12 month contract for San Javier so they are not going to change their arrangements this year. He seriously doubted that Corvera will ever open, I disagree with that but certainly not in 2013 for the kind of flights we are all interested in. JF

Sounds promising and fingers crossed the politics and finances can be sorted, but aren't there unresolved practical issues of flight paths and overflying NATO airspace?

What is the matter with these people?
There is no way that 3 airports could be supported by the current number of users.
If San Javier does not close, Corvera will not open.

I was always under the impression that San Javier was previously a military owned airport and that when corvera opened in 2013 that San Javier would close to the public and it would be viable for alicante and corvera to operate in tandem. Clearly not!

as much as i would like to fly into an airport closer to CDA, flights to San Javier from scotland are as rare as rocking horse s***.
so unless airlines move from fights from alicante or when Corvera opens put more routes on from scotland i have the option of a 90min drive to Glasgow prestwick from edinburgh ( plus parking £65 for 2 weeks) or add an extra 30min on from alicante
or i can fly edinburgh to alicante and leave the car at home and grab a taxi ( £30 return).
Like everyone else i hope that they get this mess sorted, as the more cheap flights into the area we have the busier CDA will become.
