Hi

We are in a 3 bed in jardine 5 and we have found that in this visit the water heater does not seem to have as much hot water.

We can only get 3 or 4 two minutes showers max leaving at least 1 person having a rather chilly shower!

Does anyone have any advise on changing the settings of the heater or has anyone had this issue also and if so how did they solve it?

Or is it that I need to upgrade the thing for a larger capacity one?

Thanks

Scott

How many people?

Anymore than 3 of us outside of July/August then it will run out, so it's strictly, tap on, get wet, tap off, lather, tap on, rinse if we're in a rush to all get done quickly ............. or everyone just shower every 15mins or so when not rushing (which is normal) .......... it's only a small tank after all.

Hi Scott,

We had a free device from our local water company which we took to Spain for the shower. The shower remains really good but no problems with 4 people having a shower. You might find your local company do the same.

ShowerSave Shower Regulator is a simple water saving add-on to your existing shower head assembly.

ShowerSave gives a better quality shower while saving water and money by lowering the flow rate so that the right amount of water is delivered to your shower, neither too little nor too much.

Reducing water consumption means that the energy required to process water is saved and that CO2 emissions are reduced.

Simple to fit and an excellent way to save water and save money!

Please note: NOT SUITABLE for electric showers.

Yes the water saving device who's name I cannot remember is the solution. I also brought from home. It took 30 seconds to fit and sorted the problem so that 4 people can easily shower on a full tank of water with no losses quality from the shower itself, amazing.

Worth googling such devices and they should cost no more than a couple of quid if you can't get one for free. JF

supplemtary, you need a water widget from www.biggreensmile.co.uk.

Fitting water saving devices helps but the heaters are starting to be affected by limescale.. I took the element out of mine and clean it out, got the scale off the element and also replaced the anode. Whilst this does not give any more capacity it certainly improved the efficiency.

I have fitted saver devices but struggle for four people showering. However, by turning down cold pressure in bathroom only (using taps on wall in bathroom) you need less hot water to get good temp shower. I also have changed taps to thermostatic ones to regulate temperature.
