Heating for the pools on La Isla

I know this has been mentioned before but is there any news on the possibility of getting our pools heated to allow for use outside the summer months ?  

I've had a number of enquiries from friends with young children who would like to visit March/April or Sep/Oct and they would want to be able to use the pools.

I know that Neil had looked into this and suggested the use of some sort of inverter system that was low cost (1 euro per apartment per year?) which would be sufficient to increase the water temperature by a couple of degrees.

Yes I did do a feasibility / report for Carmen. When I gave It to her it was at the time when the banks were not paying there fees, this meant the island had no money to spend on anything extra.
Now they are paying, but the third pool is gaining momentum so I feel it maybe on the back burner, however I too feel it is a great shame to have such a big asset that can only be used 8 weeks of the year yet we have the upkeep of it for 12 months.
I do hope you can raise this to Carmen or your president as the more people who ask the more likely it will happen. ( then it is not just me banging he drum).

Now is a good time to ask as I will be at the AGM ( which is not a AGM) so I can ask as well.

Hi all

Wouldn't it be great if we could add a little more in the kitty for a couple of hot tubs next to each of the pools to compliment the great looking parasols.

I am a strong believer that we should look to run a suggestions survey each year and to get these done in a priority order to really make La Isla a place to be envied.

The only way we can make this work is to come forward with good suggestions and collectively get behind our presidents to implement these ideas. I have some ideas myself but concious some of these ideas may be a little costly but we also have a number of quick fixes that we could implement such as a general tidy up of the La Isla entrance, etc.

Hope you are ok , I have read the previous threads from
Neil and san and I think there is some good ideas and I think we are all looking
In a positive direction I think we all need to work together as I group to be heard
And I think your idea of suggestions is a good one which united will become a stronger voice
To our presidents who are doing a great job but I'm sure with us united in our quest to make la Isla
The place we want it to become we can achieve this together and I'm willing to work forward with this
To a complete la Isla . This is not to oppose the presidents more to help them in achieving our goals .
Just my thoughts on the progression of la Isla.

As a starting point do we know who all our presidents are on La Isla apart from Carmen C and Pat H? In this day and age we should be able to get the comms / engagement right via technology to help keep people informed. I like the ML newsletters every fortnight but personally I want to see more of what's going on including the challenges so we all have an opportunity to contribute. I don't want to read news that has a vaneer on it and it would be good to have some of the challenges spelt out so collectively as a group we come up with ideas to move things forward.

I have every confidence Carmen and co are working hard to resolve the issues with the lake but progress needs to be made visible to help engage with people more so we all come together as a group.

To be honest I do no know who the president of our block (5) is.  If anyone has a list - it would be great if it was posted here.  If not, I will drop ML an email tomorrow morning to request a full list and post it on this forum.  

I like the idea of the hot tubs & heated pools but agree that the third pool is the bigger asset to attain right now if we have a chance to secure it. 

The more of us that raise these ideas directly with the presidents of each block before the AGM the greater the chance that they may be discussed/considered at the meeting (which is not an AGM) - even if they're not a priority right now but earmarked for the future.  

P.s. - It was great to meet & get to know more islanders this summer - look forward to seeing you all again !

I wholeheartedly agree with what you say and I have thought this for a while . We pay community fees and therefore we
Are a community , and communities work together seeing the pros and cons of upcoming dilemmas . Also to make joint decisions
As a process ie : parasols around pools I do not remember being informed as a community about the number of our parasols being
Reduced on poolside to two, this should be a joint decision for all concerned.and matters like this must be addressed with a united
Front for us to remain a fair and just community. This is not a rant at the powers to be but more of a request for the owners to see and remain in control of the reason we bought into this dream of la Isla.

I agree and I have tried through my site and through Chris Kings site to try to have an area to voice these. I know Carmen looks at the site but may not provide much as way of info back to us...my concern to her. I have agreed / to try to add as much as I can but I am also busy with My company at home.

I am VERY concerned about the allowance of other CDA owners on La Isla. The Island was meant to be exclusive but the CDA owners do not like this. If we improve our island with hot tubs and 3 rd heated pool etc I bet you we will have a lot of CDA people coming on the site to use them. I know the allowance of just 25 people has been allowed per day but I am sure they are using the pools already. I have seen it!
This issue must be addressed before we start to improve the island too much only to see it potentially over used or abused by the community and not just for the island.

Please do accept I am all for improvements and want to help, but I would not want the island to be the winter indoor swimming pool for the whole CDA unless it is all agreed by us who would have paid for it.

I have emailed Luis with a list of points that I personally would like discussed at the next meeting :

• Are we getting a third swimming pool on La Isla ? When?
• When will the lake be filled with water ?
• What is the situation with the social club ?
• Will the buildings on La Isla be repainted this year ?
• Why are there only 2 parasols at one of the swimming pools ?
• Can the entrance to La Isla be landscaped ?
• Can we improve security ? Unauthorised people have been entering La Isla.
