On behalf of the volunteers who have given up there time and are willing to accept the responsibility of being a member of CPR and be subject to the Charity Status of which CPR as now been approved. This as taken us 6 months to achieve and will now allow us to accept donations, open bank accounts, without paying tax, which you can be liable for in Spain.
Over the past 6 months we have spoken to many people, especially the Fast organisation at Camposol, who have been through the same scenario and are now flourshing and providing an excellent service to the community there.
This is the same conclusion that a few of us decided to work for, when CPR was discussed and agreed to achieve.
Nothing as changed and we are still working hard towards that target, in doing this I must thank alot of people who donated money to this cause, through organising many fund raising functions, I will not name them, because there are too many, but I thank them very sincerely.
Progress is being made and the 1st session of training will commence in September with the a team of 8 volunteers, once we have a bank account, we will start to purchase equipment and put procedures in place to control CPR.
I am sorry to say that this takes money to fund, we raised an incredible amount so far, but it does not end there, the project is an on-going situation and funds must be raised constantly.
We have commitee of 3 people, thay are in the roles of President, Secretary aand Treasurer, these people are responsible to the Murcian authorities and must work just like any charity in the UK, i.e annual general meetings with accounts/balnce sheet presented to the residents of Condado. we are also supported by a small team of volunteers who organise and raise money for CPR
We are open to any person who wishes to volunteer, whether it be as a first aider, fund raiser or an administrator, please contact Lynn in the Clover and she will gladly pass on your details to us.
If people wish to have a general meeting in the near future, then I am sure we can organise one.
I am very pleased that people are waking up to the fact that we do need CPR on site, it is a very worth while cause, but we do need money and we do need volunteers.
If you wish to monitor our progress, then you will find us on Facebook, under Condado Primary Response.
There are leaflets being circulated about CPR and these have been left in the various bars and restaurants on the site.
I have approached Millenium and once we have all the required documentation, which hopefully will be completed in the next few weeks ( dont forget this is Spain), I will be able to sit down with Millenium and especially the Level 1 President and ask them how are they going to support CPR.
I am sorry about the long blog, but I hope it explains a lot of things that have been going on behind the scenes.
PLEASE SUPPORT US
President CPR
I will faces and names to posts of President, Secretary and Treasurer, when we are fully official
