As many golfers know Roda Golf Course is run as a purely pay and play commercial golf course with little advantage for owners on prices over discounted general society rates and little interest in promoting either social or competitive golf.
The latter has been organised very successfully for some time by a small band of volunteers which has now expanded to a currently temporary but soon to be permanent Golf Committee.

We already have a database of a large number of Roda golfers who have attended either the weekly morning Roll Ups, Monthly Socios or the 3 AGR tournaments.

Most of you on the list will already have received notification of all the monthly events for next year so you can plan your visits.

We do ask that any Roda owner/golfer, and all are welcome, wishing to participate in any golfing event from now on contacts the Golf Committee and registers interest on

rodasocios@gmail.com

Giving as much notice of participation as possible so that sufficient tee times can be arranged along with brief details such as name, email, handicap, Phase or apartment etc. if you wish to join in and receive information on forthcoming events.
A list and system of equivalent handicaps will be used and will be posted on the notice board near the Pro Shop

The golf course is still in great condition and once again getting busier as we enter high season.
See you on the fairways.

Forgive my ignorance but is the new committee replacing the AGR Society or group as we thought that there was a  committee which was elected at the AGM every year?

We were always kept informed by Graham Saunders who with Marian does such a fantastic job organising all of the events and prizes etc and is always there with a smile whether the golf is bad or good. Hopefully this is not another breakaway group as was set up a few years ago, as it would be a bit confusing for those of us not in Roda full time.

We missed the last two Socios so we are a bit out of the loop but going back down to Murcia in November for a few months so it would be good to have clarification Hugh if we need to re-submit new information etc. and I'm sure we are not on our own in being confused.

Many thanks

Mandy

Mandy

Apologies for any confusion, I thought I had made it clear, the new Committee recently approved by the AGR Board was just an extension to the work already being done by Graham, Frank etc.
Graham recently wrote to everyone explaining it was too much for a small number of individuals and it was agreed to spread the load to more volunteers, thus a committee was appointed by AGR.
As I said, we a already have a large database of contacts but we wanted to ensure everyone was happy for their details to be passed on to the extended committee's email address for data protection purposes.
All we ask is in future to please use the new email address for all correspondence as it centralises things and ensures tee times, tournament bookings etc. are organised.
Graham is not going away, just receiving some help so hopefully all golf here is organised and centralised.

Hope this explains things

Chris

Thank you Hugh or Chris - not sure which of you this is.

It is great to know that there is no dispute or split. Graham does a fantastic job without remuneration or thanks so great to know that he has not been sidelined and that there is no splinter group breakaway like before which was so detrimental to visitors like ourselves who are not there full time.

Looking forward to wintering in Roda in the sunshine.

Mandy
