TV Channels Ok at Condado but not elsewhere

As reported here the long awaited satellite transfer happened earlier in the week.

The TV channels provided by A2Z on Condado appear unaffected (presumably because of the large dish used).

I hear that many owners on Camposol who use individual dishes have lost BBC channels etc.

Lost BBC Northwest last night plus some others.

It appears to be a gradual change so people may find they have lost channels when they come out to Condado

BBC channels during the afternoon haven't had good reception but seem okay morning and evening. Had to watch France v Italy on France 2 instead of BBC1 yesterday.

i thought condo was connected with wires for tv reception....dose anyone know if there are seperate dish on la isla and or is it all connected.

We are connected via cable ( Fibre Optic ) but only back to the main head where there are a number of retransmission units which take the satellite ( DVB-S ) signal and convert it into cable ( DVB-C ).  There are a number of large 2Mish dishes but if even these have lost the signal for some channels that it.  La Isla are feed from the same system, so no seperate dish.

ITV moved today? Reception fine here on Condado at the moment.

does anyone know if fitting a signal booster will help with any channels that are still there but are to weak for the tv to pick up

Nope it won't.

The can't be fixed at the user end.  If the A2Z satellite equipment can't receive the signal then they will not be able to retransmit it.  remember that at your apartment you receive the retransmitted DVB-C signal not the original DVB-S signal.

The above link implies that there is still a bit of tinkering going on with the new satellite's position, possibly resulting in improved picture.

Is there now regular picture breakup each day, at specific time of day ? Not out there at the moment myself so relying on what residents might say.

The channels all seem fine this afternoon.

Reading Murcia Today it said that the move would not stop people with 2mtr + dishes from receiving the channels but they may need to realign the dish to the new transponder.
