Has any one any information regarding the internet on Roda, I have an ipad and have heard I can pay for the internet dish to be installed then pay for it as we use it.

This sounds good to me as we are over several times a year and would only pay for it when we need it. Has anyone else tried doing this and also what sort of quality is the connection we have a penthouse appartment on phase 2

Yes you can do short term internet but there are a couple of snags.

Firstly - you will have to pay for installation (€50) and a minimum of 3 months rental.

Secondly - you can disconnect for free. However, every time you want to re-connect there is a charge of €30 and you jhave to pay for a minimim of another month.

Reception from a penthouse in phase 2 should be fine although there are some very adverse comments going around at the moment on various other forums about Teleast. One comment I found said that they were paying for a 6Mb link in Los Alcazares bit were only getting about 2Mb most evenings.

Teleast used to have 2 websites - 1 of which is just a holding page, the other is no longer active.
However I found the one for Internet Mar Menor who are effectively the same company

Agree with Pommers that Teleast might not be for you because of the costs. I might be wrong here but doesn't a dongle work well on P2? Yoiga rings a bell.
Also I think the Postroom in the square in LA does short term internet on daily rates, but not sure if there's a connection fee.

Good luck.

I use Teleast in phase 2, however I never disconnect, I seem to remember the reconection cost is 22,00 euro,

there is small computer shop near the Mercadona that has a short term solution, it's the same idea as a dongle, and uses a sim card, but it's also a kind of router, so you can log in with several devices

Or perhaps visit the Clubhouse - I believe there is free internet access available there as well.

The alternative to the scheme pommers mentioned is the Pay As You Go scheme.  You pay a one-off 100 euros connection fee and then pay for however many days you want, for example it is 3 euros per day or 15 euros for 7 days.  Not cheap but convenient.

And if you use the monthly direct debit version and leave it disconnected for any length of time - you have to start all over again with reconnection.

We recently installed Teleast 6MB Internet Daily option. We paid €100 for installation of the equipment...which is now ours to keep. There are no disconnect / re-connection fees....you just pay as you need it.

Whenever we need it connected we can either phone or call in to the Teleast office at the 525 Plaza and have it connected up within a few hours. They charge €3 per day, but reductions apply e.g. 1 week is €15, 2 weeks €22, 3 weeks €29 etc.

We re in a penthouse in Phase 3B and the service was very good.
