We are in the process of buying in block 41, solicitors and bankia holding everything up big time, should have signed 2 weeks ago, but we are looking at another 10 days. The utilities will have to be connected told 3 weeks for that. We have booked flights, furniture delivery etc for 8 the June, so panicking big time. We have family due out on the 12th - 17th so may be looking for an apartment to rent or a hot shower on the complex for those dates. Any suggestions gratefully received.
Thanks Fiona and Tony

Hi Fiona

We're in the same boat, buying in block 28, started begining April waiting on bank to release same document, we're all ready to go. Booked to go out on the 22rd of June but time is running out to get air conditioning, cleaning and furnished, think we will have to rent aswell which will be very disapointing. Good luck with your's

It's a pain, but fingers crossed it'll all come together in time. Ours did - by a matter of days, thus avoiding an emergency last minute rental. Utilities took about 2 weeks. We used DFS for furniture and light fittings, and they were great on the timing front.

Anyway, my place is available to rent during those dates - block 13, so not far from you guys, so if you need a last minute rental, let me know and I'm sure we can do you a nice deal.

Regards,

Adrian

Hi guys

I think this is common experience - our purchase over ran by 3 weeks and our utilities took another 2-3 weeks which is ironic as they only have to flip a switch - but our key holder Carol has been amazing and managed to get all the air con, cleaning and furniture co-ordinated to happen just before our. I hope you guys get sorted too - it drags out but then everything comes together fast i find.

Thanks for the replies and help
Just wondered what the utility companies actually have to do, as our solicitor is saying we have no water or electricity connected, even though when we tried the taps water did come out, only a bit I admit, just wondering if they are trying it on.

They have to put meters in - the water is just a residue in the pipes.
