I visited Deutsche Bank in Los Alcazares today and was pleased with the meeting.
They set up our internet banking and put us through to the call centre to complete the set up while we were there. They also arranged our debit cards which we could have posted out to us or collect on our next visit.
The account, internet banking, debit cards, cash withdrawals, payments and transfers etc are free as long as we deposit at least €600 per month and have at least 2 direct debits on the account. If we don't fulfill these conditions, the cost is €20 for each quarter the conditions aren't met.
There was a cheaper account option at €12 per quarter with no requirements for minimum deposits or number of direct debits but there were additional charges for debit cards, cash withdrawals at other banks, payments and transfers etc.
The best option would really depend on whether you needed that debit card / cash facility and how often you needed to make payments and transfers.
Internet banking provides all the expected features and is easy to use although occasionally some messages are in Spanish. It allows you to set up free SMS alerts for things like payments over a certain amount etc. There is also a mobile app for android or apple which I haven't tried yet.
All in all, looks good so far.
