Train from Alhama de Murcia to Murcis city

Hi, we are out next week and want to catch the train into Murcia during the day and evening. Does anyone know how long they operate and when the last rains tend to be in the evening. Also, I understand the ticket office is no longer there so assume tickets can be bought on the train.

What a pity you didn't inquire before I took the train to Murcia on Wednesday. Could have told you all the precise timings.

Train leaves Lorca San Diego 13 mins to the hour. Every hour during the weekday. So Alhama de M about quarter past the hour. Return journey train left Murcia @ 22 mins to the hour, during the weekday.  

Unmanned stations have a ticket machine. Takes, cards and cash. You will need to buy an Ida and vuelta  ticket.

Lots of taxis available  at the station and there is a taxi rank outside the El Cortes Ingles on the LHS of main thoroughfare. Cost of taxi to El Cortes Ingles €7.30

Surly it's easier to just drive? Took me 35 minutes on Thursday to get back from Murcia? Got to be better than driving to Alhama, parking up, waiting for a train,then getting at taxi? Then doing it all again in reverse on the way home? 

Its not like you can even have a drink if you have your car parked at Alhama? 

Train leaves Alhama 11 mins past hour get there before hour as time to buy ticket  machine  as well as office sometime  walk across line so need to be there before train gets in .Get timetable at station for return  but not late train    at Murcia station C5  Bus  or   Taxi 

If driving anyway  Shopping centres Thadar have trams going in to top of Gran Via or car park at El Cortes
