1) how is Hda actually run? Who decides what?
2) is there a management committee of some kind? who is on it?
3) are there any rules and regulations on Hda? for example, can I paint my house luminous green or install a radio mast?
4) can I use any of the pools on Hda? Are they all properly maintained?
5) do I need some sort of pass to enter the resort?
6) is the hotel going to open? is there any chance of a minimarket opening for essentials?
7) who chooses the uk tv channels? there are lots of free to air channels that could be added...
8) why isn't information like this made more readily available?
I'll probably think of more later....

if you are looking to buy on HDA visit the resort and speak to an agemt that specialises in the resort
The responses to your queries vary by each phase on the development but all spanish developments have a community administrators and decisions are made via the owners community, typically president etc and there is plenty of information on the internet how this works

Well thanks for the response but it doesnt help me much. I am already resident at HdA and have been since the beginning of March but I am still none the wiser about anything, and in particular the questions I raised in my post. Don't get me wrong, I love the place and our cute little house but there seems to be no information anywhere about whats going on - if anything that is. I think there needs to be a blog of current events online so that people know these things - as well as basic information along the lines of my questions above - who does what, how do you contact them, what are you not allowed to do etc etc. For example, someone told me the other day that if I have a toldo installed it has to be in a neutral colour - no gawdy stripes. I have no idea if this is true but as I am having one installed shortly it would be nice to know. I know Spain can be frustrating but this bit has been emancipated....

Keith if you are already a resident then you must, first of all know that you pay community fees and the details of the administrator who will have much of the information and rules of your community, for example you cannot paint your house and use any pool on the site, agian they are specific to each community so if your community doesn't have one then you don't have one, everything is controlled within your community and it is easy to find your President
Chances are that the comments on the Toldo, sun blind, are correct, normally they control the colours
Maintainance of pools again paid for and controlled within the community and there are very strict rules on water quality and maintenance in Murcia
TV channles agian the community query, more often I would suggest using the Internet and cheap IP box
Entry HDA is a public site, entry cannot be barred by the gate, just checked
Supermarket I understand the issue was that people were not using it, hence it closed, hotel who really knows

Thanks yet again. Well no, I dont pay the community fees and I have no idea of who the administrator is or any idea of any rules and that is, of course, why I have asked these questions. I am particularly annoyed to hear that one cannot use any pool on the site as we were assured that it was no problem as the one for Pueblo Espanol is not yet built. In fact I would never have moved here if I had been aware that there was such a rule. For that reason I would be grateful to know who my 'president' is and any other information that should have been given to me before I moved to HdA.

Its imperative, that you find who is your Community Administrator, As others mentioned,
i dont own there, but i know of someone very close to me that does...
unlike many resorts, Hacienda del Alamo, has different community adminstrators assigned to each Community/ phase so depends which area you belong you will have set of policies and adminstrative incharge.
when purchasing, its also imperative, you check your "Bilaws, horizontal rights, statutes."
anything not in writing or documented is not 100% reliable( verbal )as in other aspects in life😉
but community policies change , depends on many factors, (check statutory rights, statutes)etc.
i think every pools, are not for everyones use though, depends if you have a pool already...or paying a community fee for it.
iam no expert, but hope you get some answers.
wish you the best...

Thanks for that. All I can say is that I live in the Pueblo Espanol, have been here for about 2 months now and, although we have a place in the UK, we are here more or less permanently not just for hols. I'm retired and have been living in Spain now fort just over 4 years. I have no information at all about the running of the resort and hardly any neighbours most of the time. Despite that, I like it because its quiet here and the house is just lovely. I just hope someone can point me in the direction of an 'administrator' so I can get answers to my questions....

You need urgently to take some advice on this because in Pueblo you certainly should be paying community and IBI council tax and it seems the agent may not have told you the truth, around €1500 a year I believe is the figure but not sure
Also there was supposed to be an arrangement where owners in the Pueblo could use the Oasis pools but given that these have been selling this may now not be the case
The Pueblo was hard to sell because there was no pool available and there were rumours that a pool would be built when sufficent properties were sold
My suggestion is call into the sales office, on the roundabout by The Spanyards Inn and they will be able to help you

Hi Keith,
You need to go and visit the community office in the Spanish village (opposite Habity and Home Kare).
The 2 Spanish ladies will be happy to answer any of your questions on the Spanish Village community, they also deal with payment of community fees. They will add you to the mailing list.

Well, I went to the Community Office and spoke to a very nice lady. Apparently a residents' card for the car can be obtained from the security man at the gate. They can't tell me anything much else because of data protection. Suggested I contact the women's group about starting a newsletter but emphasised they could give me no information for it because of......data protection. They couldn't tell me anything about satellite dishes - apparently there is a tv office somewhere that deals with that, and they didn't really want to know about putting up a toldo. I am no further forward. And yes, I have no official access to a pool - despite having had this assurance. I have never felt less in control of my environment as I do here. My advice to anyone thinking of moving here is to think very carefully. It's very nice but the 'communities' are a pain in the neck once you are here...
