Hi all

Just wanted to share our good news with you all, and for those still awaiting their outcomes, maybe a ray of hope for you all ?

Having won our case in the Court of Alicante against the Spanish Banks in November 2014, and receiving our initial deposit back into our account in April 2015, we have just received our interest back into our account today.

It's been a long, almost 10 year process, but, it's now finally over for us !!

I'd like to thank each and every member on this forum, for their advice and input over the last 9+ years, as, if it wasn't for you, we'd not be in the position we're in now.

We wish the rest of you, all the luck in the world in getting your money back too ?

Finally...... now we feel we can move on with our lives, having had many years of sleepless nights, and stress related issues, but IT'S NOW OVER !!

Good luck everyone.

Barry & Susan Kent

Well done Barry.

Did you achieve a final ruling with interest backdated to date of deposit?

Hi ads

Yes, we received interest back dated, and are completely satisfied with the outcome, albeit a 10 year process !!

I'd like to take the opportunity to thank our Spanish Lawyer, Martin De La Herran of Abolex Abogados for all his hard work in recovering our monies.

Regards

Barry & Sue

Yes sincere congratulations to all concerned and sincere thanks for your good wishes.

So good to see the judiciary in this case making the Banks fully accountable.

We've also just heard that we've won our SC case but I'm not jumping around in excitement just yet because as usual there's a sting in the tail.

Having not heard anything from our solicitor for over 18 months we suddenly had an email about 6 weeks ago to say we had a case number (no idea what that meant other than having to fork out 200 euros for the procurator). Then got another mail last week to say we'd done, SGR had no further comeback and that costs had been imposed on them. However, as well as now having to wait 6-12 months for the interest (if anyone has a more accurate timescale I'd be welcome) the award of costs isn't what it seems. We're still going to be slapped with an invoice for around 7,500 euros from our solicitor and then they have to see what costs they actually manage to claw back so technically we're still paying after all (for the moment).  Is this usual?

There was a momentary celebration but it was extremely brief.....
