hi my name is dee. my husband and i are due to go on an inspection trip on 8th june. we are looking at an eagle. my mum and dad were out in march and they have bought an eagle. they are dealing with atlas, my husband and i are dealing with masa.

when my mum and dad were out the roads still had to be done and the water and electricity connected. they and us(if we buy) have been given a date for end of june.

my mum and dad (elma and hugh) have eagle m11-7.

i found this forum by accident. i am glad i did and so is my mum and dad. it is a great idea to get to know each other before moving out and finding out who our neighbours will be. i will be renting my property out for part of the year,so it is good to read what everyones plans are.

does anyone know when the whole development should be complete? when the 9 holes will be complete? the 18 holes will be complete? the hotel? the shops?

sorry, lots of questions.

so far i havent had any problems with dealing with masa. mum and dad have had a couple with atlas, such as waiting ages for phone calls to be returned and getting their cashback.

glad to meet you all

dee and scott

elma and hugh

Hi Dee & Scott, nice to hear from you on the forum.  I'm sorry I can't answer your questions.  Lots of us are frustrated because we reserved in May 2004 and expected to be in our properties by the end of 2005.  Please don't let that put you off - the long delays seem to be behind now, and hopefully the first properties will be released soon (well this year at least!!!).  It will be  a lovely place when finished.  You only have to drive into or past some of the Polaris developments and see loads of apartments on top of each other to realise the difference on SG.

Just a thought - if you're going on an inspection visit with MASA - have you reserved your property yet?  If not, check on the members properties for sale here on EOS.  Although they can't be sold yet, some people have their SG property's for sale here, at better prices than new releases from Masa, so might be worth a look for you.  My son's found a buyer for his through this site.  (He doesn't want to sell - has visited twice this year and loves it ) but his circumstances have changed.  Good luck!

Hi Dee, mine is Albatross M14-06, near to all the neighbours who've posted below.  I've been over recently but been chased away by the security guard, so didn't manage to see it this time.  I did manage to get to the house in Feb though, and the whole feel of the place is lovely.

If you see a house you want for sale by a member on the EOS site, they won't be able to sell to you until they have legally completed their purchase, which shouldn't be too long.  You wouldn't need an agent, but you must have an independent Spanish solicitor to look after you if you buy.  You should make sure of this anyway, even if you buy through Masa, Atlas or any other agent.  If you need more info on this - there's lots on the main EOS site, even a list of good solicitors to use.  Sorry to be boring, just want your experiences of buying in Spain too be good.  It's a great place to be!!  Best wishes.

ok thanks. this is all new to me and was to my mum and dad. its not boring but very helpful. i havent been over at all so i am guessing that the m11, m12, m13, m14, m15 is roads and the numbers after this is the house numbers? which roads are due to be completed first?

i wish i could get over before june 8th, i will take my camera and post pics after i get back(only going over for a weekend) i just cant seem to get an answer from masa ( my mum cant really get an answer from atlas) on when things are going to be complete. atlas did tell her the 9 holes would be completed by january(after reading the comments on here, she should of asked which year!)

i do feel for the people who have been hit my the delays, but surely buying at this stage there would be as much delays, apart from the roads, the pics mum had it looked quite complete(i'm no builder though, and the pics were taken on a mobile phone!)

Hi Chunkz

Sandra here from M16 20

Your right to assume it looks complete as all the houses up to M16 are furnished and ready to go. If you want to live without water and electricity that is.

The hold up seems to be the main connection i.e. the pipes and stuff like that have not been laid going up to the site yet. This is what we are waiting on now (or so Ive been told)

As for the cashback for your mum tell her not to despair as I got my about three weeks ago. I bought in January. Although I did ring and faxed quite often asking to be advised when will my cashback be sent. I asked them just to transfer the money to my Spanish account which maybe helped. It was also more cost effective cause I think i could have lost out on the exchange rate. The charge for this was defintely alot less than getting it back then changing it to Euros again.

You hang in there. We'll be BBQing very soon.

hi sandra,

i read in another message that someone had paid there connection fees, is it still not connected?

what is phase 1? is that where you are? mum is M11-7, which means nothing to me as i havent been out yet. have you been advised of a date yet?

i would just like to know when the 9 holes, 18 holes, shops, hotel etc is due to be complete. mum got told my atlas 9 holes would be complete january. masa said to be they didnt know and this builder always complete but sometimes not on time. they said whatever i am told when i am out to add on a year!

then reading peoples messages on here, everyone has been told different things.

my mum keeps asking me if i have found her neighbours - i keep telling her i havent seen the place but i presume i am looking out for numbers in M11!!

cant believe i just found this site.

No one knows when the facilities will be completed - there are just rumours.  The delays won't be as long as ours because there was a period of about 1 -2 years when no building took place and no one knows why.  There are loads of guesses, but Masa is well known for this.  Legally all builders have to put in the electricity, water, roads, lighting and pavements before they start to build the houses.  That doesn't always happen.  That's why we now have the delays, but it's something that can be done quickly.  It just depends on the council then approving the site as being fit for people to live in, which is what we will be waiting for when all the roads etc are finished..

Some buyers on SG have properties on another Masa site in Camposol, further south in Murcia, and they know of the hassle Masa can cause.  But Masa is a company local to the SG/Torrevieja/Pilar area.  They've built many local urbanisations way before Camposol was built and have always had problems, they are very well known locally.   Even so, the development at SG is in such a perfect place that it's worth the wait.  In case you don't know - Masa International - the property sales company - is not Masa the property developer.  They used to be one company but split into two companies years ago.

M and the number stands for the phase of the building, not the road, as the houses will be back to back on a phase and face different roads.  The number after the letter and phase number is the property plot. Like mine is number 6 of the M14 phase.

Work has started on the golf course and it is looking good - now is the time to buy - you'll be so pleased when it's all done.

i will go on the  inspection trip but whether i buy with masa i am not sure.

Hi Dee

It was probably me you read about, I have paid connection fees which is the water and electric from my house going out to the mains supply. Its the mains supply we are waiting on being laid.  All houses up to M16 are the 1st phase and these 400 approx houses will all be released together. Very soon I hope.

Does your mum have a map of the site? If you look on some of the shared photos i beleive someone has put on an arial view.

I hope you get sorted in June and you will enjoy looking round. At the moment you may need a we bit of imagination but it is goging to be gorgeous and i cant wait.

Sandra M16 20 (yes 20 is the house number and M16 is the street)

Aaargh Dee ........... never feel silly...........you've done what we've all done and that's why we're all on this forum, to share experiences and hopefully help others!    I'm just trying to give as much info as I can to help.  I'm so sorry - i didn't mean to to make you feel like that,.   We're all in this together!   SG will be ready soon - look for what you want and buy it.  Just make sure you've got a good solicitor - and I only say that cos mine is crap !!!

hi, think mum does have a map, will check with her tomorrow. if she does i am going to write everyones names on the houses.  mums house is in the 1st phase then and so must the one we are going to look at.

looking forward to getting out and seeing it. then i can update people. if i can work out the roads, i will take pics of other peoples houses and put them on.

masa doesnt seem to have a good name - i mean for delays not quality, but this seems to be more masa the builder and not masa the agents. dont know if i am up to finding an independant solicitior. if you go through atlas or masa they see to that.

learning the spanish lingo just now. thought it might help.

Hi Dee

Think I have found a neighbour of yours.

Go to the thread  COMPLETION DATES STARTED BY BEECE there's a guy called Jason on it who is M11 14. Maybe if you put a reply to him he may have more info for your phase.

Hi all, As we get a little closer to acheiving our goal of occupation I was wondering what skills would be arriving I myself was the senior electrical technician For a very large dutch company, although in the later years everything was computerised I still retain all the basic electrical skills I learned as an apprentice. So my thoughts are if we can swop advice and skills we can keep a lot of these so called service providers from our doors and do the work ourselves. If there are other skills arriving out there let everyone know on this web site.

Cheers Ray

Hello, I have been following the emails and emailed by questions to Masa to ask for an update as suggested by someone in another set.  Here is the reply below, we are M11 - 04

"In reply to your email, we have to say that althought the property Open 11-04 is completely finished, it cannot be handed over yet and we have not been confirmed about a date when it can be, as the necessary infrastructure works need to be completed (ie water and electricity connections, etc).

As far as we know the infrastructure works are being done at this moment. At this respect, the most advanced poligonos are the M-13, M-14, M-15 and M-16, which will be the first ones to be realeased to the clients because they were the first ones to go on sale.

If we have not contacted you before about the handover is because we have not been confirmed yet a possible date for the handovers, although we have to say that the first handovers in these poligonos will not take too long, because as we have said above the infrastructure works are very advanced.

As soon as your property can be handed over, we will let you and Atlas know."

I will post this on the other topic site for those who have decided to all email Masa for an update.  I don't think we are far away from you parents as we are an OPEN just next to a block of EAGLES.

R&G

Hi Ray

As i have mentioned in other threads I'm converting my basement into two bed/ensuites i have already had an extra door put into the basement entrance (opposite the original door) and hot and cold water supply put in two areas of the basement underneath the kitchen and bathroom to feed the ensuites. I will be doing the rest myself, stud walls, plumbing, tiling, plastering, bricklaying, fencing patio's etc, Possible will need your skills on some of the electrics if thats ok with you.

As you said best if we all keep it in house.

Regards

Tony
