Hi Tom

We have a 30 March 2008 date for completion in our contract  - block 6.  That's a Sunday, so it won't be that day!

We were taken by our agent to see a couple of furniture shops in Torrevieja - MQM and TorreHogar/Linea.  One could supply from stock and deliver the next day and the other needed 6-8 weeks' notice.  Apparently, these two shops are prepared to store furniture for this agent's customers, should there be any delays on completion.  I think they wanted quite a lot of money with the order too - I have vague recollections of 50%, but I couldn't be sure, it could have been the whole lot!

So, I guess it all depends on where you decide to buy your furniture from ...  It must just be a matter of asking in each shop how long after you place the order they will be able to deliver/install.

A lot also depends on whether the LFO for our section is granted by the end of March 2008.  Our solicitor was told by the builder that they hope to have finished working on our block by the end of 2007.  So, end of March 2008 may be possible!

Good luck with the furniture hunt!

Diane

Hi Tom

We ordered furniture in November & January & completed at the end of March,

Changing Rooms in La Zenia were only too happy to hold the furniture for us & wanted about 30% deposit, however this was negotiable. The bed shop next door to them were similar, but we paid very little deposit in there.

We also bought from Inside Right espana at Balsicas & paid a deposit then the final invoice prior to fitting.

Most of the companies are very accomodating as they understand that in Spain things don't always go according to plan.

We had excellent service from all of the above, all English speaking. All the deliveries where at the times they said they would be - in fact much better than the UK!!!

Hope this helps

Hi Dave and Sue

That sounds promising.  We went to look at changing Rooms and the shop next door (went end of May), we thought their prices were ok, glad the delivery is as well.

We also went to one past Balsicas (quite a way past), forgotten what it was called it's on my e-mail but they were very helpful as well.

Does your furniture look good now it's in/

Cheers

Pauline And Peter
