We have recieved forms from Keymare asking for authorisation to connect the above with Distribuciones Electricas Portillo and Codeur SA? Does anyone have advise re the size of electrical supply suitable? also what are the charges for water connection?

Has anyone been given the usage charges etc for either of these?

On our electricity form from KeyMare they had highlighted the highest level of supply as recommended. The cost was 207 euros (I think).

Our solicitor indicated 300 Euros for water & electricity connection but I haven't seen anything official.

The size of the electricity  meter can vary from circa 130 - 240 euros. This is a one off cost.  If you go for a smaller unit then there could be problems if you have say, the dishwasher, airconditioner, washing machine etc.., all on at once. The power will trip.  If you go for the one off cost of a larger unit this (apparently) will not happen.

\not sure about the water connection. We have completed the forms and sent them back to KMare as instructed by our solicitor.

The electricity you choose depends on the applicanes you'll be using and also the size of family.

if two people are watching TV, the washing machine and air-con are on and someone is using a hair dryer, you'd need the highest.

There's just two of us and occasionally others will stay so Keymare have suggested the second largest.

As Christine sais, these are one-off charges so better to be safe than sorry.

Hope this helps,

Gareth

We are buying a 3 bed duplex and have opted for the largest electricity package as we have been told that once connected you can down size but not upgrade.

Hi

Regarding the electricity and water forms that have been sent out does anyone has an example of them filled in please? I'm not sure what the D.N.I (Is the our NIE numbers?) and some of the other information is asking for. Also is there an initial payment for the water? When should payments for the electricity/water be made?

Any help appreciated thanks.

Justin

The DNI is either your NIE number or your passport number.

On the Electricity form you need to put your name on the first line & then your NIE/Passport No. Leave the next line blank as that needs to be the name of the person who is arranging the connection.

Then on the next line you need to put the address of your property. I just put the apartment no. & the development name.

Where it says Fdo - You need to sign

On the next section Your name, NIe/Passport & contact address & telephone number.

No. Cuenta Bancaria - Bank Details

Select level of power - We chose the highest as this was highlighted as recommended by Key Mare.

The form for the water should be much easier as it is partly in English.

Sorry I can't answer your questions about payment.

If you need any more help with the form, PM me.

Noreen

Further to the previous message, the payment will be taken from you bank about a week before completion and both the electricity and water are one-off payments.

If there are 2 or more people, go for the higher wattage to be safe. If you're using lots of things like aircon and washing machine, it might be a problem otherwise.

The address according to Key Mare is;

Calle Tomillo, Residencial Al Andalus Thalassa, Bloque xx, Planta xx, Apto xx, 04621 Vera,, Almeria. (obviously insert your block, floor and number where I've put x's.

I hope this helps.

Gareth

Has anyone been told what the average cost for electricity and water is per month?

We're in a 2 bed ground floor apartment and I believe it is paid every 2 months. However, I don;t know how much it's likely to be.

Can anyone help?

Gareth

When in the buying process do Key Mare send you these forms for the water/ electricity supply? AsI have said before, we are buying on AA Resort (no open forum for it) which has been completed for a while. It is still a new build and not resale but have received nothing about utilities. We are hoping to complete in the next few weeks, but there needs to be water/ elec for snagging purposes!!

Key Mare sent us teh electricity & water forms back in July. I think I still have them as attachments on an email so if you want to PM me your email address I will forward them on to you.

Hopefully they are using the same companies on bth developments.

Just a simple question. Once authorisation forms for Water and Electricity connections have been sent off , how long does it take to connect the supply ?

Thanks

WE have been in since July 9th and our connections were immediate. We completed the forms at the viewing visit and then gave them to Key Mare and it was all ready by the completion date

We completed mid-July and the electric and water had been connected the day before. I'm not sure if it's been the same for everyone but that is what is supposed to happen.

Of course you can't be aware of any leaks until the water goes on and it's flowing through the pipes; infact our kitchen floor was dug up the day before completion because of a faulty joint which resulted in a flood! You couldn't tell the next day though.

Cheers.

Hi,

We completed of 5th September, and they were on immediatley, even though someone from our agents (MRI) told us that it may take a few days for them to be switched on.  Luckily our solicitor was better informed!
