Hi,
WiFi stands for "wireless fidelity" and it's wireless internet acces! (So you don't have to go to the internet café if you bring your laptop from home)

I understand what wi fi is ,but how exactly is it established in the urbanisation. I am in favour in principle, However, if it means errections of masts etc in the vacinity I am not so sure. Does anyone know about it?

The reponse has been very positive and it would appear to be what folk want, but it needs proposing at the community meeting and accepted and then surveys and costs and quotes.I may not be at the meeting therefore,so if you want Wi-fi attend and make sure it is on the agenda and gets accepted.
We also need advice . I appreciate the response and with the right company involved it is possible.,but the first hurdle is acceptance by the community, then our elected representatives can source companies that can help us

I already have internet access as well as a landline courtesy of Servicom in Turre. I have a "squarial" pointing towards Mojacar village and have had brilliant, fast internet connection since. It costs approx: 40€ per month which includes all my telephone calls throughout Spain. This has allowed me to install a Skype telephone, which, when you ring Skype to Skype, is free for the duration of the call. Charges for Skype to land line are approx: 1cent per minute, and Skype to mobile is considerably cheaper than other providers.
Should the community vote against "wi-fi" connection and individuals want this service don't hesitate to contact me for the details etc.,
Regards,
Lorraine & Peter Braid.

I am currently staying in Thallassa, in someone elses apartment as mine is not ready, and am sending this from an internet cafe! I would therefore very much support the establishment of a Wi-Fi zone as I unfortunately do have to bring my laptop and do some work whilst enjoying Thallassa.
We will be in Block 39 once it is complete.
Best Regards all
David

as far as i know gareth is compiling the list for submission to seasun before the community meeting takes place so that items can be included on the agenda. i may have mentioned before that ive been informed that unless something is on the agenda it cannot be voted in or out at the meeting and would therefore have to wait until next meeting. so AOB issues become agenda items for next time around. is there anyone out there with community meeting/administration experiance that could provide us with further details of if this is correct and/or correct procedure
cheers
