Despite about 10 emails, I have not had a resposne from Luis to the questions that everyone raised a few weeks ago. (I know his email was out of action but....!)

The latest that I have heard is that the date being mentioned for the community meeting is now 1st March. Luis was supposed to be meeting with KM this week & will then be advising everyone. Apparently it must happen before 1st April.

I have also tried to contact Luis by phone without success, in an attempt to arrange a meeting with him during the week of the 16th Feb to get the questions answered.

Until they absolutely confirm the date there is no point in booking flights.

I will update re the questions as soon as I can.

Noreen

Thanks Noreen,

I will be in Thallassa this week (hopefully completing) and intended to call in to see the Seasun people.  I will ask the question about the meeting in case that you do not get any response.  Seems that Seasun are getting to be as bad as KM regarding emails and phone calls!

All the best

David

The Wi-fi idea has been sent to Gareth by myself for inclusion on his proposal agenda,if the community is in favour tenders can be accepted and decisions made.
The feeling that I get from this site is that there is support.

Luis and his response to phone calls is a different subject ,but I will address it here because it keeps . popping up .

Whilst I was over in Al Andalus Thalassa for a few days on the 28th January ,I telephoned Luis on my Spanish mobile and he answered immediately, simply query ,did he have my direct debit details?

He stated that he would telephone me back ,it never happened.

I belive that when the pressure is on he dodges, especially UK numbers.
We should therefore consider our options in respect to reliability and suitabilty for the post of running our urbanisation.

I also got a quick answer when I telephoned Maria about damp ,but she also did not ring me back.

I visited Seasun House yesterday morning in an attempt to clarify my details regarding the payment of previous "community funds". I also wanted to pay the requested €100 for the top-up fund, alas, the receptionist did not speak English, my Spanish is atrocious, Louis was not working that day and there were no other people who could assist me.

I did write a note with my name, address and telephone number, but I will wait to see if there is any follow up by Louis.

Could it be that Louis is being confused by all and sundry bombarding him with different issues? Trying to collate everyones wishes must be a logistical nightmare. Perhaps it would be prudent at this stage to agree on only one person addressing Louis with our concerns? One voice can be heard above a hundred (think that Chinese bloke said that at some stage, his name escapes me!) However, as Noreen seems to have taken up the baton and is running with it, could I suggest that she approaches Louis along with Andrew Rampton to represent us all in communal matters.

The Community Meeting is not confirmed yet, and in reality, although it must be held before April 1st, nothing may be decided when the meeting does takes place. It will take several meetings before committees are formed, opinions are duly noted and acted upon, budget decisions are made etc., etc.,

So in the words of that Lancashire lass whose name I can spell (Lorraine), take a chill pill, relax and wait awhile.............................things will get better!

Regards to you and yours,

Lorraine (Confucius) Braid. 12-3-07.

Something along the lines of what you have said has occurred to me as well.

I think a discussion with Luis is advisable & maybe get his agreement to answering any emails from an agreed representative, in a timely manner. If people were to put forward their questions & say a weekly email was then forwarded to Luis, I can't see that that would be too onerous.

I have asked someone who is visiting Seasun next week to ask Luis about the questions that I have already raised. I have also asked that Luis contact me urgently as I want to arrange a meeting with him while I am over from the 16th Feb. I am also going to try telephoning him again on Monday.

I am quite happy to act as a liaison point but everyone will have to bear in mind that I do have a day job, that is why I also think a weekly communication would be advisable.

Anyone else got any thoughts on how we can overcome the lack of communication?

Noreen

I am going to start a new thread for this discussion as otherwise I will be accused of hijacking this one!

Any replies please see the thread "Lack of response from Seasun"

Just a thought!

What if part of the relaxation area in the indoor facilities was kitted out with a desk and a connection to the internet? This could possibly be a cheaper alternative than covering the whole development.

What do others think?

Regards,

Lorraine.

Good idea ,but the Spa is only open for 6 months and there would be a lot of background noise noise ,and high mosture content on the equpment, with splash potential.

I have to say my first thought was not a bad idea, but, I have to agree with kenshaz, mosture and splash potential could be a big problem. Also would it get used,  having to leave the apartment  with laptop to log on, assuming  no one else is using it, send a email and then have to wait around in the spa area for a reply, when could be sat on the terrace glass in one hand and laptop, well im sure you get the picture.

In terms of economic liability,

How many people (the urbanisation being predominantly Spanish) would actually benefit from the installation?  How many people would vote FOR a wi-fi zone, as oppose it when they have to consider the cost? What is the likelihood of us "Brits" being able to swing the vote in our favour? What time factor do we have to consider before said installation could be agreed upon?

All factors to be considered.

Regarding the moisture/splash problem, I was not promoting the idea to install the equipment poolside. There appears to be an area (currently sporting sunloungers) which could be utilised for any number of things. Next to this area there is a large, lockable storeroom, could this not be a suitable place? And as for the moisture affecting the equipment, could the same not be said about the electric-powered treadmill? Not to mention that there would appear to have been provision made for the installation of a TV screen in the gym area.

Lets try to keep an open mind on these suggestion, otherwise, people will dismiss the ideas as being uneconomical.

Regards,

Lorraine.

Sorry was not trying to dismiss the idea out of hand, I did say my first thought was not a bad idea, I was trying to put forward what I saw as some of the pit falls as the spa will be closed from April to October. At present I do not have any idea of the cost, could we not get Seasun to get a couple of quotes and then we would some idea of cost. I agree it might be better to have one point, with the problems that I have already indicated, but I will bow to the will of the people.

The feeling that I get from the people on this thread is that they really want Wi-fi throughout the urbanisation with secure codes which allow access in your apartment/duplex,those who already have existing links to the internet(like Lorraine)via their phone lines would just opt out.
There is no need what so ever for it to be compulsory,so why oppose it and the Spanish use the internet also.

The larger the complex the cheaper the access, there in lies our advantage.

Please read though this thread to see the support.

We would be voting on the right to establish it on the urbanisation, costings could then be taken, but my feed -back is that the larger the number of participants the lower the cost. Why would some -one object it must be considerably cheaper than one individual having the internet via there phone ,I personaly do not wish to have a permanent land-line to my apartment (to expensive for the amount I would use it on trips ,but if it was cheap a community Wi-fi would be excellent)

I fully agree that Wi-fi should be encouraged, I myself have no wish to discourage the idea, on the contrary, I feel that in the long term it would be benficial to those people who wish to rent out their apartments as it only further enhances the facilities as would sky tv.

I am aware that the Spanish could also find it beneficial to their needs, I did not wish to imply that they are not internet users, and apologise if this has caused any offence.

Even though I would not have any use for the system, I wholeheartedly support it.

Regards,

Lorraine Braid.

From my point of view I need it to keep in touch with my work and work online.  Like Kenshaz I do not want to install a phone line, but do want to spend time working on my terrace in the sunshine (preferably with a glass of wine).  Currently I have to travel to majocar playa and use a commercial facility where I can use my laptop and their Wi Fi.  To stop that daily pilgrimage would be a god send for me and I therefore support a urbanisation-wide system.

Brgds All

David

I too think a wi-fi zone would be useful. However I think as you will have to get someone in to install it I think it should be administered on a pay for x amount of minutes. When I stayed at Palatio Marina on the front going towards Mojacar. I could log in to a zone which prompted me to x amount of euros for x amount of mins. A call to servcom in Turre may be of use to check out how it works and how much to install such a system. If such a system was in place the cost would be administered fairly. Those who use it pay for it.

If I didn't know differently Ken, I would think your going to have a hissy fit if you don't get what you want!

If you don't calm down and reign your hysteria in, I'm gonna have to slap you! And you know I charge extra for that!!

Only joking Ken, as well you know!

Think the comments made by Lee are valid, might be worth looking into the pay-if-you-use-it system, what do others think?

Regards,

Lorraine.
