It has been mentioned in the recent completion chain that there are no shutters installed on the lounge patio doors and lounge windows. This is contrary to what we were told by Polaris World when we reserved back in 2005. We were also told that the patio shutters would be electrically operated due to the size and all the rest w x bedroom and 1 lounge manual.

We wanted a ground floor apartment as Gill has reduced mobility and the electric patio shutters and security was an important selling point. We also visited the show apartment in La Torre and an empty apartment on La Torre the same ours would be and have a photo of the lounge shutters installed including the electrically operated patio ones.

Just to make sure I wasnt imagining things I have just asked my wife the question without prior knowledge " will the patio shutters in Spain be manul or electric" without hesitation she answered electric, all the others are manual.

Can anyone recall similar statemetns by PW and the current status from recent completions.

Check what you have seen in your apt against the specification given by P.W. in their building application made to the town hall they should match. Unfortunately you have to go in person to the town hall to see the plans/details as copies cannot be sent out by post, so I am informed.

Having just completed, I can confirm that there are no shutters in the lounge.

We had a 'long' conversation re this at customer service .  Unfortunately there is nothing in the specifications that states shutters will be included.

At the build stage, it was decided that shutters would only be put in the bedrooms.  We are now waiting for information as to why this was decided.

Shutters can be installed in the lounge after completion but it will be at extra cost!  Of course, you are able to get outside quotes for this work as it doesn't have to be done by PW Homestyle.

Thanks Harry and Helen for the report on the ground, I have contacted PW on this and waiting for a call back. As you say shutters are not written in to the specifications signed for but were openly promoted at the time of sale and expected.
