Hi everyone. Does anybody have any information on us having sky ftted in the apartment? I know the community hasn't been set up yet but are we allowed? Does anybody know of the procedure, costs and the deals? Can you recommend an engineer in the area?

FIRST THING IS THAT "SKY " IS NOT ALLOWED OUTSIDE THE UK AS ITS "B SKY B " BRITISH SKY BROADCASTING, SO ITS AGAINST THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF YOUR CONTRACT AND SHOULD THEY FIND OUT, THEY WILL CUT YOUR SIGNAL OFF,IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM IN THE UK YOU RING THEM UP TO SORT IT, WHEREAS HERE YOU WILL ALWAYS HAVE TO DEAL WITH THE Co YOU BOUGHT IT FROM.  WE USED EUROPA DIGITAL WHICH IS ON THE FIRST FLOOR OF LA ESQUINA PUERTO REY, THEY HAVE BEEN HERE AS LONG AS I KNOW THATS AT LEAST 5 yrs, AND WE HAVE THE FAMILY PACK WHICH IS PAID FOR THROUGH OUR UK BANK AS NORMAL WITH A UK ADDRESS, YOU CAN HAVE A FREE TO VIEW CARD i.e. BBC ITV Ch4 Y 5 ETC.  IT COST US 1000 euros   FOR THE SYSTEM  A 1.5 mtr DISH AND A BOX INCLUDING INSTALATION I THINK ITS CHEAPER NOW BUT NOT SURE HOW MUCH, IF YOU WANT SEND ME A REPLY  AND I WILL GET YOY THE EUROPA;S EMAIL etc

Heard that installation of a dish to supply appartments/houses was done on Pueblo for 600 euros.  It is more expensive for the first one to go in but if anyone spurs off the dish (as we do not need one each-  especially if in an apartment block) then we only pay 200 euros - therefore if more than one apartment in a block is wanting it - it pays to team up and reduce costs!

There are no costs after that apparently !

Two or three have got it already in Pueblo Salinas - very discreetly therefore no problem to other residents  - I expect that they are on the roofs of the apartments and therefore out of sight.  We are not allowed to put them in view of other residents I believe as it breaks community rules.

We have the local satellite in our apartment - all pictures of german and spansh programmes are good but english viewing needs fine tuning and we have asked repeatedly for Key Mare and Communitas to call out the engineers to make the adjustments which need to be carried out in  communications room by the pool but no one has come yet.   We have been assured that picture quality should be far better than it is by a local installer who is not allowed to look at it as they did not install it

Is anyone thinking of it in block 6 out of interest?

I have used a local company, English speaking who can get the freeview system for about 700 euros, with this you should receive all BBC channels and ITV channels Sky News etc a good basic package if you are using the property ocassionally or renting it out, far superior to the "in house" system.
