Has any one paid the suggested 600Euro for this yet.?
I was never advised either by the selling agent, solicitor or Calidona there would be a connection charge.
If no one has paid then maybe we should all stick together on this and refuse to pay.
Your comments please.

Does anyone know if Polaris charged a fee? I think they did with MMGR but not sure about La Torre, could this be one of the reasons that La Torre have had problems with utility connections?

It was Calidona. When they sent us a letter advising us of our completion date they included a paragraph advising us of the charge which should be paid on completion.

Please note this extract from the letter arranging completion as sent to me by after sales... For some reason my lap top would not let me cut & paste from a scan. This is word for word, I have not changed the grammar. No signature or name on the letter just "Your Faithfully "
"Roda Golf and Beach resort in order to offer a better service to the clients and to simplify the slow and sometimes difficult administration formalities that suppose to establish the light, water and gas connections, has requested the initial registration for the same ones on behalf of the company Roda Golf and Beach Resort. You could change the title of the registrationon to your name the meeting day at our offices.
In the other hand, we kindly request you to prepare a Spanish bank cheque for the total amount of E 600 for the registration mentioned above which you will give us at the notary office."

Polaris do charge a fee for connection of utilities. I have a friend who has just completed on La Torre and he was chargeed a connection fee. I was not told this when I purchased on phase 2 at Roda, but I think this is the norm.

Just got back from Roda today and I was told that the connection charge is around €600, this is for a the first few months. After that we were told it would be less that €100 per month. Also they are revising the furniture package as they now think it is too expensive and the quality is not that good.
They hope to have some figures for the new furniture around the end of December.

we have just reserved a 4 bed villa on Roda & were told (a few days ago) the ESTIMATED service charge would be 150 euros per month. I assumed this covered only upkeep of communal areas & pool cleaning etc. It seems very cheap if it includes elec & gas use also. We live in a villa in Spain now & our elec bill is 200-300 every 2 months (we don't have gas as is usual here). I expect this estimate will be revised upward in due course!!
I read on a website yesterday that owners at the Corvera resort are able to use all facilities at Roda - is there a reciprocal agreement for Roda owners?

Hello mikelord
We have a 3 bed villa on phase 3 and when we visited the sales office they told us that there would be a reciprical arrangement for the golf with Corvera. We were particularly interested in this aspect because Corvera will be the longer championship course. They also told us that Corvera would NOT be able to use the Beach Club. Before we paid our first payment we had a list of questions because we were considering the golf priviledge and wondered if it would work with Corvera too. At this stage they told us that we were misinformed at the sales office and the two resorts would be completely seperate. To be honest this was 9 months ago and I think at this stage they really did not know. Now Devere have taken over I would imagine there are some guide lines about this and would be interested to know. I suppose the key question is as Roda owners will we get the reduced green fees at Corvera too? If noone knows the answer I will attempt to ask them again!

we put a deposit on a 2 bed on covera and at the time PABLO the sales man said residents on covera would be allowed use the course until the 1 on covera was opened .He also said there would be an arangement about the beach club that covera could use it if they found out that the people on roda we not using in big enough numbers the reason for this he said was that the bars and so on will be leased so these people need as many bums on sunloungers as they can get to fill the club. One thing he never said was that roda would get a discount on covera course,it seems covera get everything on roda and we get sweet f""" all on covera .
