Hi
Just back from Almerimar to sort out NIE etc. Despite all the negative comments listed recently I felt the whole mood about Porto Fino extremely positive, The development looks fantastic and on blocks 1 & 2 the finishing touches are being added to really put the heart into the place.
We had look around the show flat in Block 7 which is still a working building site. The finishes in the flat were higher than I have seen at other developments and they have kept clear of fitting basic fixtures and fittings. A nice touch was a seperate outside area built on the terace to house the washing machine to give the kitchen a spacious feel. ( see terace pic )
The marina still looks as good as ever and although some areas were quiet I still had a good choice in January. There are also a couple of new trendy cafe's opened/opening one right opposite block 1( see photo )
The lower commercial sections are being painted red which works as a nice contrast to the appartments. At the moment the roads around the development are a mess as the utilities companies are providing services to Porto Fino.
From speaking to various people in the area it was clear that prices had not risen as much as hoped but they had risen as this was a common scenario throughout Spain. Those who expected a quick money making scheme will need to plan more longer term now, although everyone is confident that this development will eventually pay dividend.
MRI's office in Roquetas has now closed and staff are based in Mojacar. This did not provide any problems for me although I am sure it is more difficult for Helen and Sally to cope with especially with everyone nearing completion so I think we are all going to have to be a bit more patient.
If anyone has any other questions I will do my best to answer them.
James
