Hi when we signed up for the development in 2004 (with Ocean) we were told that the appartmenrt would include "Free Golf for Life" we actualy have this in one of the promotional materials.
When I enquired with the solicitor she does not know anything about this. Did anyone else get told this or is it taken for granted that the properties include free use of the golf course?
Any advice or information, I would be grateful for.
Thanks

Our original contracy states we have four golf shares, ie the right for ourselves or our tenants to play on the course. Nowhere does it say that this will be at no cost. The maintenance and administration of the course will have to be paid somehow. Either this will be costed as part of the community fees paid by owners or levied separately to those using the facilities. That decision will have to be taken and agreed by each individual community. Those wishing to use this facility may welll wish to see the cost included in the community fees whilst those who do not play may wish charges to be levied separately!

Thanks TheBantam,
We were also told that we had 4 life time passes that came with the property. However recently when we contacted the solicitor she seems to know nothing about this- which is worrying !
I am not sure that it states anywhere on our contract regarding use of the golf course.
The blurb we received definately states in block capitals "FREE GOLF FOR LIFE"
I assumed that the maintenance and administration would come from charging none residents for use of the course.
Any thoughts

I think the golf /par3 course is to remain private to the owners on Arenal Golf so the upkeep will either be paid as an add on to the community fees (most likely I think) or a seperate charge will apply. The present maintenance is being paid by PrienSur I presume and am nearly certain is agreed for a period of 5 years.I don't feel we'll be playing golf till late this year or early 09.

I believe the wording says golf course for residents. The same as swimming pools, tennis courts and driving range. This can only mean it is in the community charge.Do not see how anyone can opt in or out. of these charges. If you could decide not to pay other wise the place would be in complete chaos.

What will also be interesting is how you are going to keep the public from using the facilities eg driving range and golf courses as the facilities are very accessible.

HI
As a matter of intrest has anyone had a new contract we asked our solicitor about this last year and he said it was not a problem.
however it seems their is a problem we are going over to sign on monday but when speaking to him on thursday he has told us the contract has to be in the name of new developers and not arenal
we pointed out that as our solicitor and the fact we had asked him about this eight months ago he should have sorted it out sooner i just hope this will not delay things as we will only be over their for one week
i also think this is somthing the developers should have made a priorety when they took over
and as for the golf our contract is for two golf shares for apartment phase 4

Thanks for the replies,
as I said we bought through ocean and the paperwork we have does not seem to list any of the things we were told.
We are supposed to have 2 parking places and a lock up and golf.
The only paper work we have names the type of apartment and and the cost.
We have contacted our solicitor but that produces just more frustration.
Anyway hope to be out there soon

Hi
When we bought our flat on Phase 3 we were told that we had two parking spaces and lock up but when we actually signed as it was not on the contract we ended up with just one parking space and no lock up. We had to buy lock up at a cost of something like Euros 4,000 extra.
Nothing we could do because it wasn't on our contract!

Our contract shows two parking spaces and a storage room with the numbers and location of each. We complete on 13th March and hope to move in on the 17th.
