Hello to all,

Does anybody know whether there will be a communal tv aerial or satellite for this development? Apparently it's standard on most developments in Spain.

I've been looking into Mesh and Satellite (sky) and I'm just wondering if anybody has approached a local installer or committed themselves to any service yet?

After a bit of digging, there seems to be a few options from looking on the web and asking friends etc.

A mesh system (it looks like a satellite dish but is a steel mesh aerial) with a subscription (€19/month) and hefty installation fee of €500. This a rebroadcast of some of the Sky package and a few radio channels etc. I cannot comment on the legality of such a service as sky don't get the cash but it's available and popular on the Costa Blanca.

Sky is another option but expensive to buy & install. You need a huge satellite dish to pick up all of the channels all of the time (over 5 feet to be effective), and you have your subscription which you either activate back home (i.e. SKY PACKAGE or FREEVIEW SKY SATELLITE) and drag across the decoder to Spain for installation. You can also ask one of the local installers to fit such a system but the costs are high and I have seen again costs of €500 plus!

Anyone got anymore information?

hi james/joanne.

we were out in spain end of jan.our development has a large mast erected at the poolside ,i assume this is for a communual sat dish etc,it stretches above all the houses.there are various cabling from it and all the electrics are housed in the pool pump house area,all the houses have sky points built into them for this reason.

i reckon we will have the option to sign up for sky /broadband etc on site.

i think you will find that we will probably have the option of one company coming in and setting us up with a system hence the communual mast(was told this way back last year on site)will be up to individuals to choose i think.will probably work out a lot cheaper for a large group of owners to do this.(big discount from one company)makes sense.

Have e-mailed thetelevisionman2000.eu he says Cox gets a limited signal for his service and lies outwith the area he is able to provide service to. Reckons it's too far to travel. Stuart.
