I have sent the email below to "georgescourte@polarisworld" and would urge fellow owners to register their views to him on this subject.

Georges,

I write to express my disgust at the attitude of Polaris World regarding Golf Club membership.

When discussing the postion of property owners on Hacienda Riquelme and membership,at head office, when I was contemplating purchase of a property, I was informed annual membership would be available.

Now I find annual membership has been scrapped and the only membership package available is for 25 years at a cost of 20,000 euros before March 31st and 30,000 euros after that date.

This is not good enough, I will, like many other residents, find a club which does offer annual subscription and play my golf elsewhere and will advise other players to do so.

I have recently completed on the purchase of my property. What is missing from the advertised facilities given to me by your representatives head office ?.

When I visited last year I was told the show penthouse at La Torre would include the features I would have in my property at Hacienda. What did I find when inspecting my property in January this year, no electric blinds at the doors to the terrace, though they were in the penthouse at La Torre. No explanation, no reason, no apology. Great start to the inspection !

Additional promises broken:-

             1. Golf Club annual membership...scrapped
             2. Golf course............................ not available...............later this year ?
             3. Shops...................................   not available..............unknown date
             4. Gym.....................................    not available..............unknown date
             5. Restaurants.........................  not available..............unknown date
           
I have paid my money, I expect answers to the above, by return please.

Would I recommend Polaris World to my friends, take a guess !

Penina,

I'm glad you've sent Georges an email.  Let us know if you get a response. 

I'm still waiting for one from last week.

There's already a thread open on this subject - see PW Nicklaus Trail Offer.

If you post any response on that, it means we can all keep up to date on the one thread.

this is what I wrote to Georges

 

Dear Sir
We are owners of an apartment on Phase 4 of Hacienda Riquelme,  and whilst we are relieved that the property is finished,  we are very unhappy about the broken promises of Polaris World.  I am sure that you have received many such letters,  however I would reiterate that:
 
  • When we put down our deposit for Hacienda Riquelme it was explained that there would be different levels of membership available, annual, quarterly or monthly, so that we could pay a subscription for the length of our particular stay and enjoy all the Nicklaus courses - this has been abandoned in favour of an expensive lifetime membership,  that we are just not interested in.   We will find a subscription elsewhere that suits us, if necessary.
  • When we viewed the show houses and apartments,  we were assured that all the fittings in the kitchen and bathroom would be to the same standard in Hacienda Riquelme,  and they are not.   They are of a much lesser quality.
  • We were assured that there would be blinds on all our windows -  this is not the case, and there has been no apology.
  • We were not informed - before we completed on our purchase - that the Town Centre was so far behind schedule and again there has been no apology or explanation from Polaris World.
  • When we visited in November 07,  we were told categorically that the golf course would be open in February.  What is the date now?
We fully understand that plans will change during construction - however instead of sending out plush brochures and magazines telling us about plants and gardening in Spain,  and other interesting but non essential information - we would prefer to have relevant and proper committment from Polaris World to address the issues that all property owners have with regard to the facilities at Hacienda Riquelme.
 
I expect and await a personal reply to this please,

 We still haven’t got a opening date for Hacienda Riquelme golf course. It depends on the weather and the temperatures.

Are Polaris World now saying that, as long as we take up the lifetime membership, we will get 

  • Polaris World Club membership with exclusive offers and discounts

    Weren't we supposed to be getting that anyway, whether we became golf club members or not.   I thought that by actually purchasing one of their properties we would be getting 'exclusive offers and discounts' !!!

    I have also written to them concerning no blinds in the lounge, no fully tiled kitchen as at La Torre and no radiator in the kitchen (again which La Torre apartments have) and asked were there any problems with Polaris World we needed to be aware of .   I was told categorically that I could be assured that the specifications in HR were as high as those on the other resorts.   Cop out or what??   By the way - the reason there are no blinds in the lounge is for security reasons - if blinds are down, people will assume the apartment is empty.   Can't possibly understand why we have blinds in the bedrooms then, 'cos people will REALLY know we ain't there - or are we !!!!   They can't possibly believe that the blinds are down to simply keep the sun out !!!

    On a positive note, Corvera Airport should start to be built this year.

    Hi Guys

    I am trying to also forward a complaint as suggested, but can't get the email address to accept - i have tried 4 times now & it keeps coming up as an error. I have tried different variation, but with no luck & so please can I check the email address as it doesn't like georgescourte@polarisworld.com

    It may be me being dippy, or perhaps he has had so many complaints that he has changed his contact detailes!!
