Special Offer To Fellow HR "Completers"
We recently finished furnishing our apartment in Phase 1 and would like to offer a special rental rate to other people in the same position who are travelling out to complete or chase up snagging etc.
We stayed at La torre when we went to complete and it was fine, but we wished we had more time to check out our own resort. Naturally after such a long wait and a big investment we were eager, to say the least, and excited to get the feel of our own resort, therefore we felt other "completers" might prefer to stay in Riquelme.
On the completion trip, time is at a premium and staying at HR allows you time to check it out and get ideas on furniture, elec. gods etc.
For more info please contact on direct link.

Perhaps you could let me know how much it would be for the period Tuesday 25 March to Saturday 5th April. Will be flying back on the 5th. I think I may have something in Sucina town but would obviously consider Riquelme if it is a good price. I agree Le Torre is too far away.

I have sent a direct reply back to you, we dont have any problem putting rates etc on the forum, but some people prefer to contact directly.
If anyone has any ideas on rental and so on please put them on here because we want to see what other people think, after all the rent will affect all of us who want to rent. At the moment its only advertised on this forum for other fellow residents.

Hi there
We stayed on the Mar Menor last week for our inspection at HR. We payed £200 plus 60 euro for the clean. The villa was very a very big two bed with pool. The price was cheaper due to the month. If you wish to charge on the Hacienda at the moment I would think you would have to be alot cheaper as there are no facilities. Sucina also has very little to offer restaurant wise. Just my oppinion.

Hi all,
I completed on HR in December. I stayed in a 2 bed ground floor appt on La Torre for three nights and paid £135.00 + £40 for the clean.
I'm out again in March again for three nights and am paying exactly the same.
Hopefully the March trip is the last one where I'll have to rent as the snagging should be finished and I can stay in my own place from that point forward!
However, whenever friends come over to see us, they'll want to rent on HR so I'd be interested in hearing from potential 'renters' about what they have to offer?

Thanks for the feedback, my original was just to offer the apartment for rent to people who were on a short "completion" or snagging trip ie three or four days but judging from the feedback some people are planning to stay longer. For a longer trip HR is, to be honest, probably not the ideal place at the moment. On a short visit, the golf and town center are not too much of an issue as all the time will be taken up by polaris business.
The rent I was thinking of was in the region of 50euro per night up a max of 250euro for the week. Also there is a charge of 45euro to the key holder irrespective of the length of stay.
does anyone have any thoughts on this. john

We completed last week & stayed for 6 nights in a very nice 2 bedroomed apartment on La Torre for £155 plus 70 euros for the cleaning.
Bearing in mind the lack of facilities at HR, & the fact that the golf course would appear to be some way away from being playable, I feel you may currently struggle to obtain the levels of rent that you are considering, particularly when some apartments are being offered for quite a bit less on La Torre, even with the golf course, bars, restauraunts etc on site.
We deliberately chose to stay on La Torre, because we couldn't have access to our Apartment until we completed, (apart from the snagging) & we would then have the option of being able to use La Torre's facilities, rather than having to start searching for places to eat etc in the evening, given that the days were going to be so busy!
Once all the facilities are in on HR, I feel it will be a different ball game, as I feel it will be a fantastic Resort in time, & I already prefer it to the other Polaris Resorts that we have visited.

i have my apartment on riquelme at £40 per night (minumum 3 night stay) and 55euros for the clean - week max £225 per week + clean (excluding july/august £300 per week +clean)
because the centre isn't ready yet.
yes when it's finished - people will be able to raise rental charges but until then - it would be unethical to overcharge people over the odd prices

This is my first posting on this thread. I will be going to HR on the 14/3/08 to view the development and surrounding area. I will be arriving Friday pm and leaving Sunday pm. Can anybody recommend a place to stay either in HR or in close proximity. Also can you recommend places to visit to get a feel for the area and to sample the nightlife. It is important that not only does the development tick the box but it is a place that appeals to all not just golfers.
Your feedback would be greatly appreciate.

Hi To All,
I would just like to thank all those who showed interest in renting our place while they went on a Snagging or Furniture trip. It has been a learning process and for this year it was mostly fellow HR residents and "friends and Family". The new temporary facilities will be a big help, for those of us who like to unwind at the end of the evening and it will be a good meeting place to get the views of other residents.
The apartment is still available for rent throughout the summer although some dates are obviously taken, here's looking forward to a bit of sun, John

On La Torre in 2007 I rented out at £250 a week all year round which I thought was fair as the resort was not complete, I ended up with 43 weeks booked for the year.
This year, I raised my prices to £300 off peak and £400 peak, the peak weeks went first and I have off peak now available, so far I have 26 weeks booked for 2008.
The problem with renting very cheap is that you run the risk of underselling your resort and people will expect cheap rates all the time forcing you all to undercut each other by £5 here and there.
You cannot get a place at a YMCA in the UK per person for the prices you are seeing offered for whole properties

I Agree. It's a shame but a precedent seems to have been set by owners on La Torre and Mar Menor. The rents are ludicrously cheap and sadly will set the trend for the future. I have stayed in the Algarve many times in a 2 bed duplex with no facilities other than a shared pool and had to drive to eat, shop and play golf. It was never a problem. I paid a "mates rate" of £700 per week in the summer and £350 off peak.
I think we tend to want to apologise for the fact that there are no facilities on site, but this isn't unusual. Sure no clubhouse is a bit sad, but once the course and temp clubhouse is open there's no reason why the rents shouldn't be more realistic. All the owners should get together and agree rents. You can only get paid what you are asking. Hcaienda is a lovely resort, the Polaris World principle is great so let's start charging people for it.
When I decided to buy my apartment, I looked to La Manga for an idea on potential rents. We are a million miles away from what they are charging and if you look at the bookings they have, there is no shortgage of punters. OK we my not be able to compete for 12-18 months, but that is what we should be aiming for.
