Hi everybody,

just to let you know that we have received a letter from Mahersol stating that all works to our apartment have been finished and they will get in touch very soon with us to establish a date to sign the title deeds. At last that distant dream has become reality !

Has anyone else received anything yet ? Looks like my gamble to book flights for April have paid off. Its been good to see all the latest photos, but wont it be great that we can all be there in person in the future.

Ditto..Everyone..To our shock we also received a letter today..and have contacted MASA. Who will follow up and be in touch.

Not to be a spoil sport...But As you all know..we have just returned from the site 11 days ago..and although they were cleaning up and working full steam. It was far from completed.

 Our own apt..which is amongst the most completed..was missing the second wardrobe we paid for..the kitchen unfitted. and water tank..no electrics yet.  and this was late on Friday.. Feb 23rd.  Today's later dated Feb 26..said it was ALL complete????? Just 2 days later..(and that was after the weekend)

 I spoke with the man in the Mahersol office..and was told end of march/beginning of April. I am totally amazed. But also aware this is Only step one.. and Everything has to be applied for and approved first.  

 I am as eager as all of you..BUT also cautious..  All things must be in order..before we sign. Or we could be the ones to pay. Masa had already mentioned these builders letters in the early days..and in their booklet.....and Were adament "Not to take any action until they advised." and even with their  (Masa) letter  of completion...it involved booking notary appts., lawyers . etc. which took even more time. Nothing is final until Masa.(.or whichever agent. you deal with)  check everything out. and all the licences are in order.

I was very surprised when Stuart said someone had already moved in . We never saw anyone around on our 5 visits..and it was certainly a builders site still. We had to wear Hard Hats..!!!

All I can say is you seem to be doing better with MASA than we are. I had Emailed them before going over to Spain..and wanted to go over things. and also had some questions, which are still unanswered. We did  speak in spain with one of 4 different PA's we have been assigned since Nov..  who was  insistant we not worry about the end of March completion..and  stuck with the late April date  on our contract. Saying that May was the best suited time to  return for signing. (We had a choice of April..or early May with my husbands work schedule)

since yesterday..I have phoned and Emailed Masa..speaking with the local agent as well. All who would look into things. But I have had no replies as of yet.

As I said in my previous post...I am extremely excited.... Like All of you. But also very confused by the dated letter.. as the site was nowhere near completion just a few days earlier..  And it was my understanding, that  you move in when the development is all clean..including communal areas..all building work completed. (on all apts) and the swimming pool up & running.  With all licenses in place.

 If that is not the case...you risk all sorts of things.. 

 But I am sure all will be sorted. As Mahersol are a very reliable company. This  is just a way to get the ball rolling. As a lot of people are involved...and NIE numbers need to be booked.(ours at least). notaries..& legal appts. need to be pre arranged..as well as arrival dates etc. taken into account. So It all takes time. Please keep us posted. I will do the same. Regards, Carol

Hi again ..I just thought I would give an update.  Our  PA from Masa has Emailed me..and apparently tried to phone.  They will phone again tomorrow to discuss my questions..and other issues. No immediate mention of the completion letter.

 I  Just wanted to set the record straight., as I had come down a bit hard on Masa in my last post.. Too much worrying on my part.  But They have been extremely good in fairness. And did look after us well.  Cheers, Carol

Masa have contacted me ..and advised that they are booked to do an inspection on the Mirador building site today. Our PA will get in touch once that is completed... and they have up to date information. However, they also re- affirmed what they have previously said...that  it is standard to receive a builders letter prior to actual completion..and is not grounds for making travel plans..or confirmation that everything is licensed and ready to sign and move in. It is only after their (masa) letter of confirmation..and an agreement of times and dates. Before anything is final...and flights should be arranged. Cheers, Carol

We've just heard from our MASA rep. who said that our apartment is definitely not yet finished, in spite of the builders' letter- at least, not up to MASA's standards. It's just minor things such as no door handles, missing trim on the steps leading to the roof and unfinished electrics going to the roof.  They are going to do another inspection on the 20th and will then let us know a date when we can go out and sign final papers, etc.  We are looking at some time in April.  They said we could have it earlier if we sign a disclaimer, but if we do that we will have no recourse should the outstanding work not be completed, so we're going to wait.  Hopefully this will not be for too much longer.  Andy and Donna.

That is fantastic news..you must be over the moon.  You are the first person from the Mirador Forum to have a set date..and will soon be on your way to "Your Own Little Place in the Sun!"    Great to hear that the furniture is arranged for delivery as well. That is really exciting.

I am especially pleased with the date you have been given.  As we had been looking towards the May Bank holiday weekend for our return. which was the best option for us.  We still need to get our NIE numbers...so a lot to accomplish.   Masa were to do an inspection yesterday at Mirador..so I am eager to hear what they have to say.
