I just wanted to offer Our apologies for not being able to post photos from our recent trip. I desperately wanted to..as it has meant so much to me being able to view the building progress..from photos posted on the forum. But our attampts have failed.
I would also like to add, that although the grafitti we saw in the park was really upsetting...because of its' nature.and the peacefulness of the area. I am fairly confident that it was Not locals responsible. Something that I have thought of over the past few days.. On the very positive side.
All the Apts...in Mirador... were left open for airing. With at least half very easily accessable due to doors open or not attached. There were sinks..toilets..granite worktops..watertanks..etc. etc. all stockpiled and waiting to be fitted. And the lovely new lamps on the walls outside..just connected to the electrics. As well as glass doors..& windows. Some just leaning against a wall.
The outside walls lining the pool area...and walls to the gates & drives of the ground floor properties..had just been painted a sparkling white..This would have been a blank canvas for grafitti. lovers....and the entire site a haven for yobs..vandals & thieves. But nothing was touched. We returned 3x at dusk and wandered around freely. Both inside & outside..and No one had disturbed a single thing.
I don't think you could say the same for most places at home. Without security in place...Kids would have a field day using the lamps for target practice..smashing up the windows..and generally trashing the place..all in the name of Fun! Not to mention those who would load up a van with all they could haul away. This is certainly NOT to say..We are going to a totally Safe Haven!....but it did reassure me tremendously. Carol
