I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread where people can recommend local tradesmen they have used.
Can I start off by asking : Can anyone recommend someone to install security grills and the same for Air Con.
A rough idea of costs for an apartment would also be appreciated.

Has anybody in the townhouses changed their front door locks? Is it easy to get the right locks and do it yourself or is there someone you can recommend in the area to do it?
Are there any recommendations on who to get to install air-conditioning units?

For aircon we used Rodriguez - Klimapol, Urbanizacion Oasis, Los Alcazares. Tel: 968 170 392. If you think where La Sombra restaurant is on Oasis (opposite Roblemar) their shop is behind there. Bit of a warren of a shop but very friendly people & found them very helpful.
No idea re changing front door locks but would be interested to know if anyone has done it themselves & if it was easy to do or not.

Regarding Townhouse door locks,
Have had a qoute as follows,
Front/courtyard doors 90 euros each (fitted)
All other locks 50 euros
daniela@spanishpropertyguide.com
Also found her the best prices regarding aircon/seurity grills. They also arrange visits to factories to obtain furnature although we have not got to that stage yet.

Hi Mandib
We don't have an alarm but have considered it over the course of the past year - usually after each break in. Mar Menor Alarms seems a popular choice & also Securitas Direct - have a brochure of theirs as they come round occasionally looking for business (tel 902 118 317). As with most things it seems the more you pay the fancier the gadgets, but a basic alarm is quoted as being 249 euros (ex vat) with a 24 hour residential service being 22 euros pm (ex vat).
I know that others around us have alarms & do read this site, so perhaps they would have more info on this subject?

Hi just returned from Roda and managed (now it's a bit cooler) to try out the heating on our airconditioning unit, it worked absolutley fantastic we are really pleased with it. We only needed to put it on for a couple of occasions it heated the apartment up very quickly which hopefully will keep running costs down. We are still on builders electric so I can't comment on running costs no doubt I will find out soon!
We purchased the aircon for our apartment on P1 hot and cold heat for 1700 euros and we got it through Jon Gold (Dilog) on this forum he arranged installation for us thanks again Jon.
