See that easyjet are starting to fly from London Gatwick to Gib end of March. They say if it's successful they'll consider making flights from other airports. Hallelulia, it would be great for us lot wouldn't it getting flights at reasonable prices and so close to us? It can only have a positive effect on our area with respect to rental and selling. So come on all you southies get supporting easyjet then maybe us lot up north will be able to soon benefit from this service also.

HI
I've booked with easyjet in Aug & Sept. It was so much easier going to GIB, also you dont get the horrendous queues that you do at Malaga. There is also a bus service from the airport ( bus depot ) to the end of the casares road (pepper pot) for no more than 3 euro's . The taxi ride to sabinillas was 37 euros.
its getting better

We always fly to Gib from Luton so much easier. From the plane to terminal, picking luggage if you take any and out of terminal in 10 minutes. A 200 yard walk across the border to pick up car and a 20 min drive to apartment job done.

We fly Monarch. We normally use Auriga Crown one of the advantages of Crown is if we do ever fly to Malaga we can drop a Crown car of in Gib (La Linea). We always get a good car and if you have an accident (I did) they have many local offices. We book through Carjet at http://www.carjet.co.uk.

We flew to Gib once and Andrew nearly missed the flight home! The queue across the border during the summer months can take up to an hour, once took us 90 minutes, although not when catching a plane. Also we waited longer to pick up the car from Auriga than we have ever waited in Malaga. With two young children, walking over the border to and from the car rental can take 30 minutes rather than 10 if they are playing up, which is why we chose to drive over the border, drop off me, the kids and the luggage, then Andrew went to take the car back over the border!! However, we will try Easyjet to Gib if it's the cheapest flight, even though I hate Gatwick! We recommend Gib to potential guests without young children!

Great. It's just that Monarch used to fly to Gib from Manchester with only flights on certain days so if we wanted a weekend at Casares their days never seemed to work out very well for us and anyway now they have stopped the flights all together. Now all we have are British Airways who don't fly direct and as you know can be very expensive. Whenever we're given questionnaires by Easyjet I always suggest that they fly from Liverpool to Gib as it would be so very convenient for us and many other people I would think.
