Solmar car hire

Just read this thread while sitting in living room with 25mph winds outside.  I think its great that you have taken over the bar and will certainly be paying a visit when we come back there next Friday.  People who are negative about it are over-reacting, it will complement the village, not turn it into Benidorm!!  Its like saying when we live in England we should only have fish and chip shops - what would we do without our Chinese, Indian, Italian, Greek, Mexican (I could go on ................) restaurants and takeaways?

Good luck on your opening night tonight, I'm sure it will be a total success - look forward to meeting everyone at the weekend (and some better weather).

Hi All

We made a quick visit to the new bar last night and unfortunately only had half an hour to spare as on our way to the air[port home,but I would just like to say that the bar was full and it was a mix of Spanish and British it was a lovely atmosphere and we were only sad that we could not have stayed longer as I am sure it would have gone on into the small hours!! I wish them every success with the new venture, and after having to travel to the internet cafe for wi fi access, Steve is even more keen on making more frequent visits as he can now work in the sun with a drink in his hand and not have to worry about driving back home (bonus for me!!) :)

We have just got back from San Cayetano & went to the new bar opening last night. We agree with Julie & Steve (sorry we missed you !!) there was a great atmosphere last night & we are only sorry we cannot go back tonight, but will definetly be visiting  the bar again next time we are out there.

We wish Mark , Julie Tracey & Jim every success in their new venture.

Hi all,just got back from a great week in S/C.i urge you all to get down the Rose and Thistle and sample a great time with excellent hosts,Jim,Tracey,Mark and Julie work really hard to make sure your visit is memorable,the wee scots guy behind the bar is a bit slow but he will get better with practice[ha..ha..ha].seriously dont pre judge it get down for youselves and take a look it really is one up from the normal british bar in spain.congratulations jocks and anglos on a great job.The Macs.

We'll be arriving in San Cayetano on June 23rd and will definitely be popping into the bar either that night or the one after.

just had two lots of  family out in san cayetano they had a brilliant time and very much enjoyed the time spent at the rose and thistle  some more family coming out soon they are looking forward to visiting u i have to wait till august but not too long keep up the good work roll on august
