Driving a Spanish registered/insured car belonging to a friend

Just returned from the Roda area with our 17 and 19 year old.  I think they were pleased it was such a short visit because they failed to find any friends!  My son did spot a discoteque in the area towards Los Narejos but there was no sign of activity midweek.  We were staying in Hotel 525 and after putting us to bed one night at midnight the kids did go in search of a lively bar.  The best they could do was the Irish Bar and they came back shortly complaining everyone was over 30!!  However, they did find out that the place for youngsters to visit is Cabo de Palos (just a ten minute drive along towards La Manga) but we were going home then.  

In some ways it is nice that there is a shortage of places for them to go keeping the area quiet but I am sure some of the bars must get more lively with young people more towards the summer season.  It did not put our kids off though they really enjoyed the place and once the club house, then eventually the commercial area opens, it will be nice that they can all probably get together within Roda to share taxis etc.  This is an excellent thread you have started which might help organise some of them to meet up!

If anybody can get to cabo de palos in 10 mins from Roda then i would like to know , its at least 20- 25 mins ,  the Comic bar in the Balnerio square is quite trendy + if you go straight down from Roda towards the beach there is a night club on the roundabout, just before the irish bar

Friends of our son and daughter are holidaying with us this year for a week, ages of 17/18 and wondered if any new bars/nightclubs have sprung up since the threads last year? Or if anyone knows of anywhere else that is not mentioned below that might appeal to them?

Having had the pleasure of my 17 and 19 year old aswell as all their friends staying with us , I can assure you that there are plenty of bars and clubs to keep your lot happy.

Best bars - comic bar and sand bar ( 'wicked cheeky vimtos' - whatever they are ?)

Best clubs - Varazu and boogie nights

Don't expect to see them back before 4am - they should always get a taxi back from Hotel 525 or the taxi rank near Varazu

It is seasonal but will be busy July and August.

I was just told to check out the Roda Golf site on facebook for this by one of my grandson's friends as it is organised by someone who lives on Roda. Beyond me I am afraid but the young ones will understand.
