The villas on this particular development are, (sad to say), ripe for burglary.
They have grounds around the villas where a car can back up, attach chains to the rejas's and drive away, thereby removing the bars. We were warned about this practice which is why we purchased an apartment not on the ground floor. It is highly unlikely that burglars would employ this same system to gain access to any of our ground floor apartments due to the locality and neighbourhood, although remaining vigilant is always the better option.
The implementation of the owners/visitors badge scheme and the possibility of installing parking bay posts would seem to be needed sooner rather than later, as with the onset of the summer months, the influx of visitors will need to be closely monitored.
Without resorting to scaremonger tactics, cetain areas within the village of Alfoquai are currently undergoing policing problems. There are pockets of feuding youngsters and adults alike, (some sadly under the influence of illegal substances), who are involved in a power struggle, which in turn, has resulted in a crime wave. The police are trying hard to contain this and are being given the support of local neighbourhood watch schemes.
Let's hope that our town does not go down the same route.
