I have had an email from the solicitor we used to buy our property at Thalassa, reminding us that we now have to pay Wealth Tax and Income Tax based on the value of our Spanish property. I would let them go ahead and do this for us except they want to charge 225 euros plus 16% VAT, which I think is far too much.
My question is, has anyone sorted this out for themselves and if so where do you go?, what do you do? etc etc.
Or..... can anyone recommend someone who can do this for a better price.

We have just instructed our lawyer ,and the rate is 75 euros each,we each have to do a return ,because we both own our apartment.

There is a thread on the main board where one of our resident solicitors has posted that the wealth tax has been abolished this year. I would check that out first before allowing any payments to be made.

we have used fiscal.vera@mamsolicitors.com rachel this is a solicitor we used for our wills
they are approx 200 euro plus for both of us will check on levels as this was not mentioned
the abolition for wealth tax jas come into our area yet, good luck

I'm using MAM too.
Just had a letter from my bank which looked quite important (it was in Spanish) and it turns out I need to give this to MAM.
Maybe this is the time of year?

I've not received any notification about Wealth or Income Tax. Should my solicitor be advising me about it or am I expected to go to Authorities direct? Any knowledge welcomed

my solicitor never got in touch as we used the recommend one by macanthony so we went to the one below and they have given us details etc
i would not wait or ask them why they have not got in touch i think it is up to you though

Ultimately it is your responsibility to get the wealth tax & income tax sorted out.
We did get an email from our solicitor offering to deal with it at a super inflated fee so we declined.
Don't forget you also need to sort out your IBI (sort of council tax) & Basura (Rubbish collection.
I need to speak to Monica about the rubbish collection as from her April report the implication was that we should all have received a bill for the Basura but I may have misunderstood, so I will clarify.

If anyone has sorted their IBI etc. out would they please tell us where we have to go in Vera to do this? If the Bills are posted to us I'm not sure we will get them as I do not think the postal services are yet delivering to Thalassa, only hand delivered mail is going into the personal mail boxes. I'm told that this could take years before the postal services actually deliver to the complex!
