UK Driving licence replacement

Can anyone put me on the road to getting a replacement uk driving licence.

I came back from the UK last week, where, I had my wallet stolen. It contained the photo part of my UK driving licence. I have tried to get a replacement through the DVLA Swansea website, but they say I do not qualify as I am a resident in Spain. I do not have  an address in the UK.

How do I obtain a new photo part for my UK driving licence?

 If you have no UK address to use then as the the DVLA say you are "stuffed". You have to have UK address so that they can send your traffic fines to you automatically

I would quickly remember that in fact I spend most of my time, now that I think of it, at the address of my granny, sister, friend, or whatever. And try and remember....never volunteer information!

.........or you could just do the logical thing and get a Spanish licence.

Without a UK licence to exchange for a Spanish one won't you have to take another driving test?

How do the DVLA know that you're now resident in Spain?

 Yes, if you just lose the picture, I do think the best way ahead might be the canje ( exchange) for a Spanish one.
