Hi. I have been on the RA website tonight ( well this morning ! ) and tried to book flights for Easter / summer 2012. They were up a few weeks ago, now nothing. Any body know the reason ?? Thanks for your help.

Ryanair. Nothing out of East Midlands to Alacante after Saturday 24 March 2012.
Perhaps due to the Air bridge fiasco
Ryanair flights from East Midlands to Murcia start 25th March 2012 all outgoing flights loaded with £30.43 tax. Return loaded with £18.31.
I can't really wait to book all my flights for next year upto the pending opening of Corvera perhaps in November 2012.
So have looked at booking Bmi into Alicante or Jet 2 into Alicante or Murcia. At the moment a much cheeper option to Ryanair.
I need to do this before all flights fill up, due to Ryanairs actions or not.
Alicante is an hour and a half drive and Murcia 45 min, Corvera will be a 40 min drive. So really Alicante 45 min extra Flight times into Alicante are not too bad it now gives me a chance to pop into IKEA or do a shop on the way down.
The company looking after my car have operations at Alacante & Murcia with plans for Corvera so no problem there.
I have used Ryan air for the past 10 years. So perhaps time for change. At least now I will get an allocated seat and not be trampeled on bording.

I tried to book flights from Dublin to Murcia on Saturday, but was unable to get prices etc. It seems Ryanair have taken out Murcia and may be on their way to Corvera.
Has anyone been in contact withRyanair regarding a booking already made

I have phoned Ryanair this morning.
I was told that all the flights to Murcia & Alicante had been removed, but to look again at the end of the month as they will probably be back on again then.
I said I had already booked a flight & wanted to book some tickets on the same flights for other members of the family & she said "your flights are confirmed, but you'll just have to wait to book others".
I said my concern is that you cancel it completely & then I have to rebook a much more expensive flight with another airline.
She can't see why I have a problem waiting until the end of the month to find out what is happening!

Yep sounds like a typical Ryanair response to customers questions. Ive had similar experiences with the Ryanair call centre staff. They are NOT programmed TO HELP customers. Its like speaking to a robot that is programmed to be very dismissive and unhelpful to the point you almost feel like you are banging your head against the wall.
When a customer has tried and failed to get answers on the official Ryanair website and contacts the call centre as a last resort Michael O'Leary needs to engage his call centre staff to be HELPFUL !!

I don't think Ryanair will be flying to Corvera this summer as it won't be ready. I picked up a snippet on an aviation website posted by someone in the know - I think, albeit connections with Alicante Airport.
Quote" Murcia Corvera won't be ready for next summer.
There is not radio navigation aids and no budget for them. Cartography 0%, emergency plans, validation, and many more...
In addition, AENA have to renew contracts with companies that offer the calibration service of radio navigation aids. "

What is happening with Ryanair? On their website they state flights into Murcia start on 12th March 2012. However there are NO flights whatsoever available from anywhere going into Murcia for the summer. Corverra is not listed as a destination so it looks like no flights here at all. Maybe we should look at Alicante? Oh dear, in the local free English papers they are saying that Ryanair are reducing their flights into Alicante by 50% this summer and several routes are stopped completely. Alicante airport traffic fell by 12% in November against last November mainly because of Ryanair pulling out. It looks like there will be a very quiet summer next year and even more shops restaurants and hotels will close/go bust.
By the way do not feel sorry for Ryanair as the flights that were going into Alicante will now go to Majorca so all those tourists and their money will not be coming into this region. Isn't it about time that the powers that be in Spain got their act together and did something constructive instead of wasting money (on Corverra airport) and stupid arguments with Ryanair over air-bridges?

It makes you wonder just how much power companies like Ryan can command, surely the airport authorities realise this how a decision like this can impact on a local ecconomy

If Ryanair have reduced or even stopped flights to Alicante and Murcia, it will result in more expensive fares. I fly from Gatwick and if this does happen it will only leave Easyjet and Monarch, plus some package holiday flights. I suspect the situation could even be worse from other airports. Kevin

Nothing from Edinburgh to Alicante - looks like it might be one of those routes that has been cut - which is a pain - also surprising as the flights were almost always full!!
