Where are the best golf courses in Spain?
The Comments |
Hi my uncle is an absolute golf freak, eats sleeps and drinks it. I love it too but he is something else. He is finally retiring next year and wants to be renting 4-6 months a year here in Spain. However his Nº1 priority is golf and has asked me to help him out choosing a decent area. I know there are some great courses in Murcia, Andalucia etc But I don't know them first hand and I don't know what condition they are in now. I have heard that many courses have been poorly maintained. Any first hand advice on areas where there are a variety of great well-kept courses would be extremely helpful.
Thanks

Hi mac75,
We've stayed at an amazing private villa with its own pool at the El Valle Golf resort, approx. 20 minutes drive from San Javier (aka Murcia) airport. I'm personally not a golfer but my husband and his friends loved this course the best, despite having tried a few other local ones. Though they did say La Manga was on-power with it. From what I can remeber, and I'll check with my husband if any different, the course s owned by Nike which I'm guessing them putting their name to it gives it kudos! Also, we did see alot of players on the course whilst we took in the view on the 19th hole (great resturant & bar! lol)
Anyway, I hope that helps you & yor uncle aka The Golf Freaks
Alice x
