advice on buying a garage
The Comments |
Hi
More advice required.......
We are considering purchasing a garage within the town we live and not sure whether the procedure is the same as buying a house i.e. need for solicitor, registry, notary, etc.
regards
Kerry

It is exactly the same, and like a house, one does not NEED a solicitor. The transfer is done in front of a notary and registered the same.

Hi
Not 100% sure, but worth checking up on, when purchasing a garage seperatley i think the authorities class it as a second property, could have an effect with regards to taxes.
Worth checking up on, just a thought, i could be wrong.
Regards
Steve

Dear Kerry:
Yes, it is exactly the same as the object of trasmission is legally the same " a real estate piece". Garage have their own/independent Registry number, they are indepependent pieces of real estate. They can be mortgaged, can have easements.... all as any other property: same ways of transmission, taxes...
Kindest,
Maria
