Hi Can you please help. We rented a vehicle through a well known Spanish supplier, the contract clearly states that the car was to be returned full. However when we returned it to the car hire company they said their instruction was it should be returned empty. We were charged €100, but told they would phone us in the UK next day and sort it out. This didn't happen. We got in touch with the agent we hired through and they said they would process a refund in a couple of days this didn't happen . They now just ignore our emails. How do we take this further?

Try speaking to your credit card company.

We had to struggle to get a car hire company in Malaga to pay a 100 euro fine - which the Guardia Civil had put in our name, but was because the car had no MOT. If you can find this thread, it contains lots of suggestions from people, like asking for the hoja de reclamaciones, getting your credit card company to sort it out, threatening them with exposure etc. Can't remember what the thread was called, but someone else can probably find it.

Found this on another forum-----Interesting email today from economycarhire.co.uk. whom I have used for several years due their excellent customer service. They have announced that they have severed all ties with Dickmanns due to their (Dickmanns) inability/unwillingness to meet required (unspecified) standards of service and customer care.
This has resulted in our pre-booked car hire(s) with Dickmanns being moved to an alternative supplier at no additional cost.
Economycarhire have a first class reputation and consistently win awards for their own levels of service.
Perhaps the concerns debated on this post do have some substance!

Can anyone help with the governing body for car hire firms. Doyouspain continues to ignore requests for a refund they said we would receive in a couple of days on 27th April. Surely they cannot just ignore this. I have now emailed them 5 times asking them to process the refund.
