Liz, If you have paid for a service which you have not received, i.e. your solicitor doing as instructed, you should demand redress.
As I said, I never use lawyers as I have so little confidence in their abilities, for which they often charge so much..
Conchi Surely this isn't normal! I have never heard it happening before on the Costa. Was it a new build?
I am in my third new build I have always arranged the utilities myself and never had any problems with supply.
With one house which I sold, havimg offered to assist the new owner with change-over of utilities, he decided to use 'his lawyer’.
A year later, I gave notice that I was going cut off the telephone, water and electricity as all were still in my name. For all that time I sent the bills I had paid to the new owner who repaid me,
However, after the year I gave him notice that I was going to make the cuts as I was still legally responsible.
He was left without services.
