Road tax

Impuesto de circulacion. Anyone know how to renew this ? I've been to the town hall's representative twice now. In December he indicated ( he has no English and my Spaish is limited) that I had to return in the new year. When I went again he seemed to be saying I didn't need to pay it (after a few phone calls)

El Supremo is usually pretty helpful but I didn't quite get what he meant. I expected a printed off form and to be told "Banquo" but that didn't happen

so what's the score people in the know ?

This is normally due about April. You can't pay it until they announce how much it is (depends on what they need). It also depends on the region you live in. In some regions you pay at the town hall. In the Valencia region it is collected by SUMA who have separate offices. Around here they put up posters to say it is now due.

You'll find it difficult to pay until they say when and how much. It's also the person who owned the car on Jan 1st that's responsible for paying it.

Ah...that would explain it.....so I won't get huckled by the fuzz until after April if I've not got it !
