Great to hear you're still off the ciggies.

I think you're doing better than Smiley too.  He lit up at both our last meet ups!  Tut tut.

Justin

Thank you Justin - shame about Smiley! I guessed he'd gone back to it as there had been no update lately - never mind

Hmmmm well as Justin says I lit up at both the Duquesa meets - but then not the first time to be honest. I havent given up entirely but certainly much reduced. I have become what they call a social smoker - lets hope I can kcik that bit as well. Dont smoke when I am not on social engagements (except in extremely rare situations of stress) - I know that I am going to want one (or more) when I am in that type of situation so I buy a packet and it gets smoked and then its done until the next occasion. Bopught a pack for the last Duquesa meet and still have five of them left so I guess its an improvement - whether I will ever be able to say that I have kicked it I dont know but definitely a step in the right direction. EXCUSES EXCUSES ALWAYS EXCUSES!!!!!

Funny, but I didn't see Smiley smoking in Duquessa I just thought it was getting a bit Foggy!!

Patrick, theres no point in packing up the dreaded weed until you are absolutely ready to? I packed in nearly 7 years ago but I'd simply had enough of smoking after so many years of addiction!

Don't Give Up Trying though - You'll know when youre ready..............

I simply enjoy it - not much more that I can say - funny thing is that there are times when I really miss it and crave a cigarette - no specific times of stress or anything like that. Can simply be walking along the Paseo and I desperately want one - get the craving for ten minutes and then its gone - to be honest I could probably get by at the social occasions without but I come back the knowledge that I enjoy it - guess 15 to 20 a day to 20 a fortnight is a definite improvement and I do want to pack it in all together - guess we shall have to see if I have more willpower than a wet chamois leather!!

Hola, i'm a 3years plus recovering smoker,

try this meter i found it amusing and helpful.

you dont have to buy it there is a free one further don the page.

good luck and well done.

i have only just thrown away my few i kept in the drawer, just in case, but i never needed them.

if i can do it,without patches,(i was allergic to the glue on the patches,so they wouldnt stick) there is hope for all!

I smoked 30 ish for 26ish years.

Hi More

Yes.....I'm still on the smoke free wagon. It's coming up for six months now. I've suprised myself really but there have been moments when I was tempted. My Father was diagnosed with cancer in November and spent Christmas and New Year in hospital following extremely mutilating facial surgery and, I'll be honest, I really wanted to smoke on a number of occasions but it passed. So thanks for asking.
