Hi All
I hope you can help me.
We are off to Spain on Saturday, and are staying in San Pedro. A few years back, we were taken to a restaurant that I think was in Los Alcazares. It was a big restaurant, where they BBQ'd indoors -
We can't remember the name of the restaurant, nor exactly where it was. Has anyone any idea where I am talking about? and could give directions?

Hi Tracy
Sounds like it could be El Patio, just opposite the hotel on the main square. Did it have a large outside eating area? This message was last edited by Candyfloss on 10/16/2008.

Hi Gina was right as the restaurant is called El Patio II. Technecially its not in the precint but just outside but one of the best restaurants in the area. Also at the other end of the precint is Angela's which alos does good food. If you like that type of food (El Patio II) there is always El Sonorio in Santiago de la Ribera which is about 4 miles away. Follow the road to the airport and carry on and its on the left hand side of the road. I think the best restaurant in the area is Restaurante Rebate in Rebate. its about a 30- minute drive from Los Alcazares. Go north along the coast on the N332 to Pilar de Horradador and then go through the town to Campo Verde. Carry on this road for about another 5 miles and its then sign posted where the road bears to the left you turn right. The cost of a 3 course meal with drinks etc will be in the region of 35,00 euro per head but well worth it. Sorry about the spelling but the smell checker on this worm processor isnt working

From la ribera its the road to the airport. Its Estation ave I think. The road where a lot of the car hire companies have an office and at least 1 boat shop. If you are at the Repsol filling station just head for the airport and its on the right. Doesn't look much from the outside.
The restaurant is not cheap and very Spanish. dont go early!
My favourite restaurant in la Ribera is Palermo. To find it, on the front find the BBVA bank and walk up the road by the side of it and Palermo's is on the first turning on the left. Spanish/Italian menu but they allow smoking inside. Not expensive.

Hi Stephen,
I know the one, just by Auriga Crown before they closed down. Our neighbours have recommended that one to us, will give it a whirl next visit. The other one sounds interesting too. I know the side street you mean, there are lots of little restaurants we are finding around there. Also like the Barracuda. Have you tried the asador? One of our faves.

Hi all
For those of us who do not know where both the Asador and Palermo are I would be most grateful if you would post directions?
Always great to have restaurants recommended.
Regards

Hi Cup Cake,
The asador is really worth a visit. I'll leave it to Jewels to give the directions as mine will probably confuse you even more .
I hope this is not confusing as I started the thread for Los Alcazares and it's drifted into Santiago de la Ribera. Do you think we should start a separate one to avoid a mix up for others?

Restaurants in Los Alcazares
Try El Patio II located across the road of the main square, Supermercardo end. Excellent steaks, good service, etc. This resaurants is very popular with the spanish & at times can get very busy advisable to pre- book table I have used all the others mentioned and this by far the best by far.
El Patio II *****.

Hi Roddy
We went to El Patio. I think we must have ordered the wrong steak as it was quite tough and were a little disappointed. Which steak do you usually order? I think I ordered the beef steak and maybe should have ordered sirloin? But, the rest of the meals were fine.

I loved El Patio the first time but had an awful meal the second time & haven't been back since. Think we should give it another go really as a lot of people rate it. Problem was greasy chips & a steak that was (nearly) still mooing - 'blue' would have been a kind description! Maybe they just had a bad night.

I Had a bad experience as well Last February I got steak ok but nothing else we sat and waited and then called the waitress who then went and got our chips etc, all in all the meal was bad and we have not been back since
not quite the worse but nearly.
As i have mentioned before the worst is the so called italian Mama Mia in Los alcazares main Square

Hi Roddy,
Thanks, it is a lovely place so will try it again next visit
We also like the Bayside and the new Pearls Plaice was really good for traditional fish n chips.
La Diva is good too. Haven't tried Mama Mia's but they have had bad reviews.
