Hi Laura,
I doubt if it will be open by first week in July, it is being commisioned next week, but there still seems a lot to do. I think there may be still a good couple of weeks at least, probably looking towards later part of the month i would imagine.
I think it will be well worth the wait . Not sure when the transport will be up and running though. There is an independant boat that goes over to La Manga from the old town, 9 euro return, but not sure exactly what part of the strip it lands at. Can't imagine it being as far as the beach club. Going over again soon so will try it out just to see.

hi all,
its gr8 to see the beach club opening, and the pics ive seen look fab. But im a little surprised to hear it will be 12 euro per person for the shuttle. We where told that a 'courtesy' bus and ferry would be provided. We assumed this meant free - obviously not!!
We are a family of 5, so 60 euro before we start paying for drinks and lunches, will make the day trips to the beach an expensive day out.
I look forward to hearing peoples first experience from the 10th.

Just back from Roda and enjoyed some lovely weather and really lovely nights out in the clubhouse where the food and entertainment were just perfect. The resort is just going from strength to strength and those of us in for the long haul are certainly going to reap the rewards. There is a letter at the post boxes confirming the opening day for the Beach Club which is 10th July. It looks fabulous as we drove over to the strip last week to have a look and as with the clubhouse Roda have got it just right.
The cost of the buses and ferry is 12.50euro per person and the bus is picking up people from the golf club car park and then travelling round the resort. In my opinion the cost is well worth it as it means that I can leave the car in the garage at Roda and have a glass of wine with my lunch and even stay for dinner if I wish. You have to book to go to the Beach Club at the Golf reception area at the Casa Club.
I appreciate that it will be expensive for families but do not feel that this is the target market for the Beach Club as it will offer a respite from a crowded beach or a busy pool for those of us who are no longer at that stage in life. Money well spent in my opinion but I am an older model and I will relish a few quiet hours with the luxury of a lovely bar and restaurant nearby.

We are in Spain at the moment on holiday and were told the Beach club is open to everyone, but with only some facilities for owners & guests exclusively. The shuttle bus is actually free, but it is the ferry that costs the 12€ as we understand it.

Do anyone know if you can just get the shuttle bus down to the beach at Santiago de la Ribera, without having to get the ferry over to the beach club ?
Also, what times / how often do the shuttle bus run, both to and from the ferry / beach ? It would be a great asset to Roda Golf if we / guests can get the shuttle bus down to the beach, even if you have to pay a few euros to do so.

We hope you can get the bus to the beach without going to the beachclub, but think this will not be allowed especially when the club is newly opened. We're going out tomorrow, so will let you know through 'Eye on Spain'
