Hi All,

This is Mikes wife Linda  Can anyone tell me if Gary from Polar Air has gone out of business???  One of my clients and  myself have been trying to get hold of him for a few weeks now and he never returns calls or emails.  My client contacted him initially to report the unit as faulty and he failed to turn up and she has been without aircon since her last visit.  They have a small baby and are returning next Friday and desperately need air con working.   Can any of you tell me if you have had probs with his after sales service.  I need to get this problem sorted before Fri perhaps he has a new number  Just need your help

Sorry Mike Gary seems to have vanished, his phone is off and rumours are that he has gone back to the UK as somebody called around to his house

He may of course be on holiday but nobody knows

Also anybody out there that can recommend someone who will look at this aircon unit for me please let me know as I previously said clients coming out with baby next Friday and need it sorted asap

• Yes I did recommend him - I think our place was the first unit he fitted at Roda and I had to speak as I found and he did an excellent job for us.  I have seen him once since then when he serviced our  unit.  I am really surprised he has disappeared.

Hi All, we completed in phase 3 A in march 2008 and in the previous year we paid roda over 3 grand for CARRIER air con unit. When we arrived for a two week holiday at the start of august the air con would not switch on. Checked all the obvious things like trips etc and couldnt see anything wrong. I rang Andrea in tech services dept who sent the on site air con people out to look at it on friday, they thought there was a circuit board gone and said they would get a replacement out for the following monday. They duly arrived on monday, replaced the circuit board but the unit still wouldnt work. They informed me that as it was still under warranty they would have to get the manufacturers out to diagnose the fault but they warned me that carrier were notoriously slow to respond (approx 10 days). I pleaded with them to try anything to help as we had our 18 month old son with us who was finding the heat unbearable at night and could not sleep.  In fairness to Andrea and the air con installers on site they really tried hard to sort out the problem culminating in them replacing the entire unit 9 days into our two week holiday. When I arrived home in mid august i asked Andrea to get carrier to contact me with an explanation about what happened but I have not heard anything since.         This apartment has been used for approximately 12 weeks since we completed on it in 2008 and half of the time it was occupied was off peak when the air con wasnt used so I reckon that my 3 grand carrier air con unit has given about six weeks service before it needed to be replaced.  Therefore I would not recomend anybody about to complete in phase 4 to buy one of these units. Has anybody else had similar problems? I will post again on this thread if I get a response from CARRIER.                                              Regards Des.
