We are visiting Condado in September - arriving at Alicante airport - best car hire deals appear to be with "121 CarHire" or "ArgusCarHire" - has anyone used these car hire companies ?? and does anyone know if they are located on the airport or are they 'miles' away ??? - appreciate any info - thanks - Patony

As far as I am aware the companys you mention are agents so it would depend on the car hire company they put you with which would determine if the collection is on the airport or not?

The car hire agent I have used recently is http://www.economycarhire.com after you have entered your requirement into there site it will give you a selection of car hire company to choose from along with costs, if you click on the car hire company logo it will give you relevant information about each company including if its on or off airport. 

Another one that I have seen recommended on the general forum is http://www.hirecarsinspain.com but I haven’t used them, so don’t know anything about them but you meet a representative in the car park?

Try www.carjet.com used them for years cars always been first class normally bigger than booked (no extra fee) and always pick up/drop off at airport.
They are a broker who get good deals at the companies working out of airports. All over the net, dont pay until collection on day. Never had any complaints when we have used them.

Has anyone used the "cheap car hire" under the travel icon at the top of most forum pages. Although I haven't used them the prices do look good.

I have used www.autosabroad.com for many years as they have always been consistently competitive, though others may well be cheaper these days.  The hire company they usually come up with is Centaur situated in the hall at the bottom of the ramp after baggage reclaim.  I once used a hire company who used the car park itself and they were nowhere to be seen when I returned the car!  I don't recall their name. 

Be wary of bogus good samaritans who sometimes lie in wait for renters, following them dowm the N332 and then try and get them to pull over on the pretext of pointing to ''someting wrong with the back of your car''.

We've used carjet as recommended by tyneside2 a lot now and never any problems.  They are a broker/agent and line you up with the best deal whichever hire company it happens to be.
