As far as I'm aware its only a vent in the wall and this leads upto the chimney stack you see on the roof terrace, there is no extractor fan so the bathroom will be steamed up for a while after a shower.

Hi
I asked this question in an earlier thread and was told that the way the vent is built, it acts as a natural extractor and this type of system was quite common on Spanish builds. Can't remember where the thread is but if you search you may still find it. However, I doubt whether it's going to be as efficient as an electric one.

HI guys
I can confirm with pauldo that there is only a vent which is extracted via the chimney stack in the bathrooms on most Jardines apartments. Only the end properties on Jardines have a window in the bathrooms for ventilation. Having spoken to my hushand, who is currently on site most days conducting the snaggings, he has said that it may be possible to install an extractor but it could be a large job.

Hi all
The subject you're discussing on this thread was covered before under the title Extractor Fans started by Harry S. Hope this helps.

One of the problems with installing the extractor fan was that we have no electricity in the bathrooms. Has anyone looked into the price of getting a supply in there for a heated towel rail?

The electricity supply for a fan is a problem so we will probably see how the vent goes and decide later if we have to look at alternatives. Sorry don't know the cost for electricity supply to the bathroom.

From the many photo's it looks like there are light swtiches and sockets on the wall of the dining space so whether a supply could be routed through from there is a possibility, although the bathroom sink should be just behind that wall. Maybe a supply could come through the bedroom and through the wardrobe but either way the supply would then have to get to wherever the fan is sited and the fan needs to be vented out- no easy solution- for the fan but possibilities for the towel rail.

If memory serves me right, there are two electrical sockets in the bathroom, but maybe not in the right position.
There definately are sockets in the Los Naranjos apartments.

Hope thats the case in Jardines but we didnt look when veiwing the show houses. However when we tried to order a radiator/towel rail for the Jardines bathroom Homestyle told us there was no electric supply to the bathroom 'Polaris didnt think anyone would want heat in there' was the comment. I'm sure it can be got through one route or another but it probably means getting an electrician in (or it will for us)

There are definitely no electric sockets in the bathroom of the Jardines apartments other than a shaver point. We visited the show apartments and specifically asked the question while we were there.

Thats good news if you mean Jardines- it probably means Homestyle meant there just wasnt a socket in a good place for a towel rail.

You would think so- but we were in Rome recently and there was a socket right next to the sink and when we were at La Manga in Feb the property had sockets to one side of the sink close to the mirror as did our apartment in Madiera last year and I'm sure thats been the case at other holiday venues. Continental rulings maybe.

Well, hopefully no too long to wait to see for ourselves. We seem to have had quite varied quotes for a shower screen between 375 euros and 250 euro's This message was last edited by JHMurcia on 7/16/2008.

This power point is definately an electrical socket and not a shaver socket. I was there myself on Friday and checked with my own eyes.
It's quite normal in Spain, all houses and apartments have them. This message was last edited by 1098 on 7/16/2008.

Hi there when we were over and done the snagging I looked all over the bathroom for a power point which I could not find. So it looks as though they have put in some and not others which is disappointing.
