Hello everyone,
I am due to complete on 8th Aug. We are on Jardines One apt No.26.
I have been very fortunate to have a very good solicitor (arranged by my agent - Best of Spanish) who has guided us through every step and has taken control of each stage. For an up front agreed payment they have orgaised NIE's, Wills, Bank Guarantees and have also agreed to do POA on completion at no extra cost.
We are due to go over beginning of October for 2 weeks staying at my sister in laws place in Villamartin, where we will travel periodically to Condado to organise basic furnishings Beds, Lights, Cooking materials etc. We are then going to leave everything until Feb next year when we will be over for 7 weeks to organise rest of furnishings, very exciting !!.
My general thoughts, having spent a few holidays on Costa Blanca during winter time, is to have radiators (probably four, 1 x bedrooms 1 x hall and 1 x living room) and go for cold only air con as hot air con cools very quickly.
Both myself and my wife are keen golfers and are looking forward to our course opening but due to golf debenture we are more likely to play elsewhere (shame). Maybe we could start a society ?.
Look forward to keeping in touch with everyone and enjoying the odd beer (us Geordies are keen on the odd drop of drink) and also meeting up with as many people as possible from the forum.
Good luck to all, see you soon.

Davell

Hi Davell

Welome to the forum, and good luck with completion in August.  I am sure by the sounds of it that you are quite experienced with the Spanish lifestyle and the great opportunitys for playing Golf.  I have bought on Jardin 13 and moving out permanantly in August, excited and nervous all at the same time but I have lived abroad before so I am not a complete novice.  I have never had the chance to play Golf - was  Golf widow for 14 years so maybe its my turn to learn.  Anyway we are all a friendly and informative bunch here as you have probably read from the threads.  so good luck and maybe we will meet in the 'Watering Hole' soon.

Take care
Carol

Thanks Angelbabe for your welcome, however I have been a member of the forum for over 12 months and have posted on many threads.
I just thought a positive spin on things would not go amiss.

Davell

We're Jardines 8 but have had some of the same thoughts. On the  heat/cold situation we have had radiators fitted by Polaris. Everyone's different we know, but in February it was cold in Murcia and we asked the locals in Los Belones and La Manga when we were out and about with our friends who live in Los Belones. Basically we were told  through the winter 'it gets cold' and sometimes there is frost and background heat will not always be enough. The overall opinion was just for cold air aircon but we will hold judgement on that until we have spent some winter weeks there later this year and see if we think cold/warm aircon would add a boost in the winter. Think this will be a very individual decision and dependant on expected use of the apartments. However we remember a holiday on the Costa del Sol where in the early hours of the morning a locked cupboard 'popped' causing panic all around but revealed four oil filled portable radiators crammed on top of rugs and heavy duvet's, blankets and one of those foot heaters you only find in mail order magazines!

Husband also disappointed about the price of the golf as that was the initial reason for purchase- but we will see what happens there, as there are likely to be furture offers as time goes by.
