We have just purchased a Sat Nav to use when in Spain. It has street level mapping of all of europe (£99 @ Argos). I have been using it locally where i know all the roads to test  it on on route finding after wrong turns etc. Found it to be excellent. 
It will be a godsend in Spain.
Now to the reason for the thread.
Good idea i think if those who are visting or have visted various stores in area of Costa calida/Murcia etc, place the name and address of the store/good places to go etc in this thread and then those who have Sat Navs can pre load them into the memory and it will be really easy to get around in the area.
We are there in August and will update this thread then with things we have found.
Does anyone have anything to put in now? Sure everyone on the forum would appreciate it.
If anyone want details of the sat nav it is a Garmin Nuvi 250 sale at argos at the minute, we bought solely for use in Spain as it has the street level mapping pre-loaded.

Re Sat nav, I have a Tom Tom which is very good but useless in the Condado & Alhame area’s as there are so many new roads the sat nave just has you on fields most of the time in these area’s

               Just recently bought a Tom Tom sat-nav for my hols in Italian lakes last month. Worked a treat for getting me to & from airport and to the resort and various places. OK, some roads have changed since it was programmed and you might be + or - the odd roundabout here and there but confidence levels are high with the knowledge that a wrong turn can soon be rectified. I know there is a vast network of new roads coming on stream around Condado which the sat nav will not have in database but if you just drive along the new road using the old fashioned method (i.e. latest map) and ignore 'sally sat-nav' for a while, she will soon get you back on track as you get closer to your destination and drop back onto the older roads.

                     Bought a Tom Tom 720 at Xmas went over to Condado in March picked up new motorway perfectly however motorway was not open until the day after we left howerver re-routes itself if you take a wrong turn so cant go wrong.

Hi, we took our Tom Tom over with us in June, it was great for most things around Torrevieja, San Javier but on the AP7 just south of Los Alcazares coming up to the new road it kept telling us to stay left for Cartagena AP7, this was wrong, it did not recognise the new section of the AP7, i'll have to update it for next time. At this section stay right for Almeria AP7 and this takes you straight to the toll road, take a ticket, drive along the almost empty motorway,it was great and pay at the other end. Hope this helps.

We have a Tom Tom One, Europe edition. 
Wouldn't be without it especially when trying to find our solicitors in Murcia. It will be even better when it gets the downloads for the new motorways.

I was wondering do most sat navs have European roads installed in them when buying them as I'm planning to purchase one for going to Spain to complete?I think this idea is quite good for getting around without any hassle and more advice on this subject and more destinations would be warmly welcomed please. You can get GB only or GB and European versions.
They are good for use on existing roads but do not yet incorporate any of the new roads in the area, have to wait for updates.

Roads in the Condado and Mazzaron areas are well signposted and fairly straightforward.

If you're visiting somewhere like Murcia or any other large town or city then that's when they are particularly useful.

I think somebody said that Tom Tom were updating maps in March - Is this true and if so did it update motorways around Cda? If not which system would you guys recommend ?

My Tom Tom One Europe is about 2 yr old and I updated the maps last summer. Cost me about £50 but it has all the new motorways on. The only problem is that it doesn't recognize some of the older roads from the San Javier airport, it will send you down towards Cartagena and across the toll road. Not such a bad thing as its not much longer.

The main Condado roundabout is also about 100 yards out of position on Tom Tom so it will try and take you further down the motorway and tell you to come back up the other side. Bit of common sense required now & then. 

Found now though that after being out a few times I very rarly use it.

can somebody  please let me know the post code for Condado as i am coming over tomorrow and i can't find it on the web site.
